' a Ei Ihe > THs Fa SA PORT PERRY STAR -- Wed., January 14, 1981-- 15 Juveniles tie Red Wings by Danny Millar Two late goals by forward Jim Wilson with under five minutes remaining gave Oshawa Red Wings of the Little National Hockey League a 5-5 tie in exhibition hockey with Port Perry Emiel"s Place Juveniles Sunday, January 4. The markers completed a hat trick for Wilson who, along with teammate John Mackey's two goals, accounted for all of the Wing's scoring. Defence- man Scott Sandison paced Port Perry with a pair. The Port Perry line-up was bolstered with the acquisi- tions of defenceman Mike Andrews and forward Doug Potts, both of whom were regulars on the Midget A squad last year. Potts had seen some duty with the Junior C MoJacks earlier this season but had suffered from injuries. He is a smooth skating, hard shoot- ing offensive minded player who can also play defence on power plays. H.T.W.H.: Terry Louvelle- 676. . MEN High Single: John Grieve- 245, Ron Lightfoot-245. Consequently, he tends to pick up penalties and had one against the Red Wings. He had been inactive so far this term. Potts made his presence known early, scoring the second Port goal on a fluke play. He went in on goal- tender Scott Mackie but was pulled down from behind. He managed to knock the puck in with his leg. Sandison's first goal was another fluke, and it forced the removal of Mackie. He took a soft shot that missed the net completely but it richocheted off the end boards and went in off Mackie's skate. Two early goals in the third period by Tim Thomp- son and Sandison gave Port a seemingly strong 5-2 lead but Wilson caught Glenn Archibald down and out of position twice to earn the tie. Both of his goals came on the same shift, at 19 seconds apart while the teams were playing five aside. Brian Mikkelson and Potts scored the first two Port tallies, both while they were shorthanded. Both teams used two goaltenders on the frigidly cold game. The win came a week after Port Perry's 19-0 whitewash- ing over Woodville. *5th ANNIVERSARY SPECIAL® From Monday, January 12th to Saturday, January 24th, 1981. 20% Off all Services SD CHARGEX| WE ALSO OFFER AN INTRODUCTION TO THE WORLD OF MEN'S HAIR REPLACEMENT.
