Jeanne Frolick [left] a past president of the Federation turned over cheques for $250 to Stella Dennis of the Scugog Crisis Centre; Beth Mather of the Oshawa-Durham Rape Crisis Centre; and Helen Mcintyre of the Brock Information Centre in Cannington. Hospital Auxiliary meeting by Luella Graham The Hospital Auxiliary held their meeting on Monday, January 19, 1981 with 18 ladies present. The President opened the meeting with all repeating the Auxiliary prayer. She then read a very appropriate poem to start the year 1981, and then wished one and all a very Happy New Year. The Recording Secretary read the minutes of the last meeting. The Treasurer gave her report. Correspon- dence Secretary sent out 15 Thank You letters, one Sympathy card and read 10 Thank you notes from patients. Hazel Coates reported 9 girls and 7 boys arrived at the hospital since December 15, 1980. There was a nice donation HOME. Several ladies attended the baby shower for Jason, infant son of Mr. and Mrs. Jim Doyle, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Norman Elson last Wednesday evening. Choir Practise will be held Thursday evening at 8 p.m. Mrs. Lizzie Cookman visited with Mr. and Mrs. Ross Cookman on the week- end. Miss Valerie Sweetman of Port Perry visited with Mrs. Kathleen Leask on Sunday. The dance in the Commun- ity Hall on Saturday evening was well attended, and. everyone reported a good time. Several from here atten- ded the Benefit Dance on Friday evening in Brock High School for Mr. Ted Gordon, whose house was burned -down a short-while ago. The Afternoon U.C.W. will hold their meeting at the home of Mrs. Marjorie Beaton on February 4, at 2 p.m. Prof. McCreedy visited his sister and family at Crystal of knitted slippers from the Head U.C.W. and a lovely little sweater from Mary Cannon. Mr. Brown was present to discuss any questions, and Marjorie McConnell gave a very interesting report from the Fall Conference. A discussion followed on our money making projects for the year. Our Spring Fair will be held on Satur- day, May 2, 1981 at the Latcham Centre. Other dates will follow.
