cai. Pee Wees win in four by Paul Van Camp On Sunday night the Port Perry George Stone Realtors travelled to Uxbridge for the fourth and final game and skated to a 6-4 victory. The Realtors started the game out in the second period when Jim Abraham scored from Brian Dean and Karl Durham. Willie Edwards then notched the first of three for the night with Steve Solomon picking up the assists. Willie Edwards earned his second next shift on the ice knocking in a Chris Cookman rebound. Mike Gibson also gained arf assist. Port left the ice after the second period feeling a little too confident. To start the period Karl Durham scored with line- mates Jim Abraham and Ron Brown picking up the assists. Steve Solomon then fired one in the corner, after Willie Edwards brought it down the ice with Rick Perry. Then over confidence struck the Port team and Uxbridge scored two goals which really fired them up. Willie Edwards settled them down a little when he finish- ed his hat trick. This only stopped them for a second as they capitalized on two defensive errors by Port. It has to be mentioned that the Port Perry defence played fabulous all series and have to be congratulated for their fine performance along with Port goalie Kevin Cearns who only let six past him all four games while Uxbridge allowed 29 Port Perry goals. The Port Perry squad played their finest hockey they had all year and their success reflected their efforts. Good work, team. In the second game of the series on Monday, the 9th Port had their most impres- sive victory and beat Uxbridge 11-0. The score does not really tell the tale of the whole game as the score was tied at 0 after the first period, and only 3-0 after the second frame. Ron Brown picked up the first goal with Karl Durham and Jim Abraham earning assists. Ron Brown then added his second of four on a nice pass from Karl Durham. Steve Solomon then netted his first of three, Willie Edwards and Ricky Perry gained the assists. The teams then left the ice for a short break. When they returned all styles of play changed and Uxbridge had become very chippy but Port kept their cool and had mimerous power play oppor- tunities. They scored eight times in the final frame. Ron Brown started the third period off on a Karl Durham rebound. Steve Solomon then notched his second with Mike Gibson giving him the puck in the slot. Boyd Vanderheul then fired a nice backhander past the Uxbridge goaler, Chris Cookman and Blair Phillips picked up the assists. Ron Brown then found the net again with Jim Abraham doing the work in the corner. At this point in the game Uxbridge was taking cheap shots at the Port players but no matter what they did, not once did Port turn the game into an undisciplined game on the ice. Willie Edwards then scored two in a row with Steve Solomon earning an assist on one. Solomon completed his hat trick on a Brian Dean pass. Since Solomon had netted three, line-mate Willie Edwards decided that he should to, so a nice effort next play on the ice gained him his hat trick as well. This had to be the most satisfying game all year for the Realtors since most of the players were on a team that Uxbridge had beaten badly last year. On Saturday, February 14, we hosted Uxbridge for the third game of the-series and handled them 7-1. The score, by no means, should have been that high as Uxbridge held the game very even for the first two periods and earned the first goal of the game. It must be noted that this team from Uxbridge can play a very fine game when they are in a close score area but when they get down a few they just spend time in the penalty box and get down on themselves. That is one thing the Port players don't do very often. Mike Gibson was the first Realtor to find the mark with Steve Solomon earning the assist. Then came a pair by Ron Brown and Karl Durham did it again with Brown letting a high back- hander go past the Uxbridge net minder. The score remained 2-1 for a long time and it was thought that the game could go either way with both teams having a chance. The tide turned when Port was awarded a penalty shot. An Uxbridge player grabbed the puck in the crease that would have been a goal. Chris Cookman took the shot for Port and managed to score with a nice wrist shot. Port's team started to get the power play opportunities then. Willie Edwards was the first to capitalize. Ron Brown added his second of three after Karl Durham fed him the puck. Jim Abraham deflected in a Rick Perry wrist shot after Karl Durham gave him the puck at the point. Ron Brown completed his hat trick on a nice bit of forechecking to make the final score 7-1. Again Port goalie Kevin Cearns played a super game for the Realtors. ' It is unknown at this time who Port plays next in the 0.M.H.A. playoffs.
