With the advent of February, gone are the January Blahs, to be replaced no doubt after a or 'Yelverton News brief pretense of spring, by the February deep freeze which with only 28 days frequently seems to be the longest month of the year. Its severity all depends of course on whether some furry, burry creature sees his shadows or not Feb. 2nd if we believe in old adages. Speaking of false prophecies of spring, today we saw two crows flying around; some- time during the witching hour of last Friday evening we were treated to a brief canine chorus put on by a pack of musical coyotes exercising their larnyx! We were pleasantly surprised to see our niece Karen Malcolm of Toronto displaying her "charms" as the Sunshine Girl in the last Tuesday Jan. 27 edition of the Sun. This is the second occasion over the past few years that Karen has been chosen as a Sunshine Girl. We should like to pretend that she 'favoured" her Uncle, but exposed in a bikini we fear our 'short- comings' would be far too obvious.
