Keith MacKinnon"s team swept their way to a 3-2 victory over Stewart Wood's team. Brian Sutherland's team out-curled Norm MacKinnon's rink by a score of 64. On February 25 Brian's team won over Stewarts by default. Steve's team beat Norm's rink with a 6-2 score and - Keith's rink was vic- torious over Brad's rink, the score was 7-3. February has been a busy month for the Grade 8 Girls Basketball team. They have played Sunderland and Cart- wright Schools as well as participating in the Oshawa and Joseph Gould tourna- ments. The keen competition between 'Cornish and Cart- wright has produced some exciting "basketball for the Grade 7 team. The House League prog- ram at all three grade levels is in full swing. Noon hour games have provided all girls with the opportunity to participate in this popular sport at R.H. Cornish. Inthe intermediate contest Crystal Tremble took first place with her speech on "Ontario." The runner-up was Susan Lehane with her speech on "School." The Class representatives for the Grade 7 and 8 classes were: Jennifer Philpot, Korin Drew and Rebecca Kahn. Grade 8 - Crystal Tremble, Susan Lehane, and Laura Trembley. On Sunday, Crystal and Susan competed in the Legion Contest and each emerged with a trophy. Crystal took first and Susan placed third.
