Congratulations to Port Perry Clarinet Quartette who won the award donated by Bethesda W.I. Mrs. W. Kerry attended a shower given for a niece in Bowmanville on Sunday afternoon. She was accom- panied by her mother of Port Perry, an aunt from Ux- bridge and a niece from Sunderland. Five of our local girls are away this week. They are members of the Port Perry High School band which is enjoying the balmy weather in British Columbia (we hope). Our girls are: Anne Tapscott, Donna Kerry, Jennifer Simmonds, Martha McCallum and Tracy Gourlie. Miss Deborah Rice has returned to Ottawa after being a guest at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ron Brown for over a month. Deb's hobby is her horse which was being trained at the Bert Ross High Meadow Farm. Deb was also being trained in hand- ling and showmanship. Deb's home town is in California. The Browns are so happy this week as daughter Shelley of Victoria, B.C. coming home for a short visit. Several attended the World's Day of Prayer in Uxbridge Trinity Church. Epsom At Music Festival Congratulations to the students and teachers of ed boys voices aged 10 and under. Jason is in Grade 3 at Epsom School. Some former Epsom pupils from the Cornish School - Janis Evans, Kathy Sutcliffe, Valarie Douglas and Nancy Rudkin sang in. the winning R.H. Cornish SSA Choir which won the Legion Ladies Auxiliary award. Heidi Spannbauer of R.H. Cornish won with her clari- net solo. Port Perry High School has also benefit- ed from our Epsom group. In the winning Junior concert band. Those from Epsom participating were Mark and Glen Kerry, Rob Page, Julie Ashton, Harry Bolton, Susanne Huly and Janet Hofstee..
