Durham council last week approved construction of a Works department depot this year to serve Uxbridge and new Regional Scugog Townships. The 11,500 square foot building will be located in Scugog Township at the intersection of Regional west of Roads 23 and 1, Utica. Estimated cost of the project is $573,000, with some $420,000 of this amount already budgeted for in 1980 and 1981. However, the council decided last year to defer the depot until 1981, and there was speculation that council might defer the project for another year in light of the substantial increases in the overall Durham budget this year.
