Our Captain Bonnie Bridge was really leading the team in the first game with four goals and some help from Rhonda White with four goals. Daphne Butt had three assists with Cindi Barton , Cheryl Doherty and Wendy Burton each having one assist, Oshawa went down to * =*gefeat in this contest 8-5. On the next day we went to Oshawa for our second game. Port was leading 64 until they ran into penalties and lost possession of the ring which gave Oshawa a chance to e back. The final outcome was 7-6 for Oshawa. 'Scoring was Bonnie Bridge 2 godls, Daphne Butt 2 goals, Janice Jackman and Kelly Raines each had 1 goal, assists went to Cheryl Doherty, Michelle Andrews = and Sharon Ashmore. The final game was played = back in Port Perry because we were the league champs. Oshawa popped two quick goals on Michelle but then she settled down and made several key saves to give the Belles the victory over Oshawa 7-6. Rhonda White had a big day with 6 goals and Daphne Butt scoring the other goal Bonnie Bridge, Doris Riseborough and Wendy . Burton each had 2 assists, Janice Jackman and val , Kraupa each had 1 assist. This last game gave the Belles the championship in the best out of 3 contest. Archie Andrews and myself would like to thank the girls for all the enjoyment and heart attacks they caused through the year. The Belles have two tournaments coming up with the big one this weekend in Port Perry, this being the Central Ontario Region 'B' Ringette Championships where they will have to really work to. prove themselves.
