The most sportsman [woman] awards were given to Kathy Armstrong [left] captain of Tween team; Kelly Raines, junior; and Wendy enthusiastic group Ringette players and their parents. President Fred Canning welcomed the guests and introduced his executive. Firstly Marge Marquis of the Childrens Boutique presented her new trophy to. Leslie Biffin of the Tween Team for the most improved player. Mrs. Millie Ives from Ives Florist presented Jill Kendall with a trophy for the most improved player on the junior team. Mrs. Elsa Allen from Chris Allen Aluminum presented Michelle Andrews with the most improved play award for the Belle team. Sportsmanship awards were won by the entire Tween Team with coach Bonnie Bridge accepting on behalf of the girls. Kelly Raines and Wendy Burton won the Sportsman- ship trophies for the Juniors and the Belles respectively. Kelly Thompson presented trophies to Karen Biffin, Heather Lawrence, Denise Wilkon and Kerri Allen of the Skating School and wished these wee gals much success as they continued on into Ringette. Val Butt paid special tribute to all our loyal folks in the striped jerseys and thanked these referees on behalf of the Association. President Fred Canning presented Martha Franssen with a plaque of appreciation for all her hard work as chairman of the Ontario Central Region "B" Ringette Championship. A special presentation was made to Mr. Jean-Paul Gosselin of Flamingo (Vachon) for their support of Ringette during our Regional Tournament. The evening ended with a dance to music supplied by Robert Franssen, all in all it was a fine end to a super season of Ringette in Port Perry. : Annual Meeting The annual meeting for the Port Perry Ringette Association was held at Latcham Centre on Sunday, April 26th. Although the turnout for the meeting was disappointing the business was dealt with and a new executive for the year 1981-82 was elected. The officers are Leslie Biffen, Jill Kendall and Michelle Andrews received the most improved Ringettes enjoy banquet, receive awards as follows: Past President - Fred Canning; President - Martha Franssen; Vice- President - Larry Kendall; Secretary - Marg White; Treasurer - Val Butt; Registrar - Doreen Kendall; Ic Scheduler - Joy Thompson; Directors - Marg Lawrence, Jean Muir, Mary- Ann Wilson; Mrs. Meisner, Judy Soomer, and Mrs. Biffin. President Fred Canning was presented a plaque to commemorate this year as Ringette President and thanked on behalf of the executive and the parents. We wish the incoming executive much success for the coming year and congratulate the outgoing executive on a job well done. As long as Port Perry has a handful of enérgetic and dedicated parents we know that Ringette will continue to grow and flourish and the girls of our town will continue to have good clean fun at the rink.
