The latest production by the Borelians Community theatre opened last Thursday and continued to draw large crowds both Friday and Saturday nights. Two remaining perform- ¥ This Sunday - May 10th Muathena Pa Dy ances are scheduled for this coming Friday and Saturday curtain time 8 pm. The set, artfully conceived by Lana Douglas, depicts two suites in a small tourist hotel overlooking a Mexican landscape and a huge avocado tree. Within the adjoining rooms, in the first act, a separated middle-aged couple, both on their independent final flings, are completely unaware of the fact that they are sharing accomodation in the same hotel. It could be Kathleen Dudley's fault. But before the discovery, Shelley (Sandra Blakney) prances suggestively around her stuffy new consort, Howard (John Stewart), while the great "slipper slurp- ing" Chris (Ed Daigle) preens for his very youthful Jackie (Carol Strait). Real- izing the inadequacies of "their new relationships, the surprise reunion becomes a very convincing revelation after all. Simultaneous patter and the inevitable confrontation between a retired couple and a group of inept heroin smugglers make up the hilarious second act, along with the baffling door-- slamming episode near the end. Hobby artist, Donald (Raymond Nash), and his busybody bedmate Amy (Gerri McClurg), in amusing fashion, foil an attempt by Lily (Kathy James), Max (Terry Hodgins) and George (Bruce Arculus) to transport the "ashes of poor Leonard" across the border. Supporting roles, the hotel owner (Gail Glass), the Mexican help (Beth Schryburt and Kevin Knight) and the strange reverend (Fred Oxley) are expertly portrayed.
