Malcolm hosted a family dinner party. following the Church service on Sunday at which their Grandson Jove Dennis, son of 'Dennis and Laina Malcolm of Ajax was christened. Besides the immediate family, guests included Mr. and Mrs. Neil . Malcolm of Blackstock, and Mr. Stanley Malcolm of Port Perry who . celebrated his 80th Birthday on Saturday. "Warmest Wishes" to friend Stanley for many more. Seventeen family members were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Davidge, Willaim's Point, for Mother's Day. A fine get-to - gether for the occasion! Saturday evening supper guests with Miss Ruth Proutt, Nestleton, were nephew Mr. and Mrs. John Proutt, Susan and David of Whitby. Programmes Enjoyed ..Miss Gail Malcolm attend- ed two enjoyable programmes during the past week -- Thursday evening at C.C.P.S. in Blackstock and found the choir and the band excellent. Friday evening Gail saw the Borelian Play entitled"Mixed Doubles" Town Hall 1873 and it was delightful as well. ' Nestleton Women's Institute ..The May meeting of the Nestleton Women's Institute was held in the Community Centre with 14 members and 4 visitors present. President Mrs. L. Malcolm opened the meeting at 1:30 P.M. with the. Ode, Mary Stewart Collect and a poem entitled "Life's Garden". A . cordial welcome was extend- ed toall. Sec'y Mrs. M. Firlit read minutes, correspondence. and a good financial report was presented. Cards were signed for the ill. Nottingham to the leaders Mrs. R. Davison and Mrs. M. Firlit. Miss Debbie Lee, Nestle- ton received her Provincial - Honours at the 4-H Achieve- ment Day held recently at Blackstock and was present- ed with a Trillium cup and saucer by the Nestleton Women's Institute. Congra- tulatins Debbie! A successful plant Auction was held with Miss Laurie Malcolm the Auctioneer, and Mesdames 'M. Firlit and R. France acting as clerks. A -goodly sum was realized for the W.1. Treasury. Following the singing of the Institute Grace a tasty lunch was served provided by the Executive. Mrs. D. Frew thanked those re- sponsible for the splendid meeting. Jones, Scugog Point, The President Irene Train open- ed the meeting and extended a warm welcome to 10 members. Our new member Donna Bronson was given a cordial welcome. We expect to have two more new members commencing in September. Minutes were approved, communications were read and Bank balance recorded. The lovely afgham was on display and will be raffled at the fall Bazaar, A special thank you, to Mrs. McColl for making same- it is much appreciated. Meals on Wheels schedule was set up for May with Carol Doyle, Karen Mc Eachern and Marg Lee in charge. The wedding on May 30th was discussed with plans = progressing on schedule. It was also decided to cater to a wedding on Oct. 3rd, at the Nestleton Community Centre. A decision was made to rent a table at the Flea market to be held in Nestleton in June, where home baking, and odds and ends will be availa- ble. An evening out has been planned for June 2nd, the- place to be decided later. Raffle tickets are now available for the 5 piece patio set. It will be drawn on June 13th. The meeting closed and members enjoyed a social hour of visiting over refresh- ments served by Marg. Jones and Lyn Bowman. Caesarea Eurchre Results A fine attendance on Wednesday evening last for the weekly Eurchre party sponsored by the Ladies' Auxiliary. The high scores etc. are as follows: 1. Denise Ward with an 84. 2. Bernice Davidge - 82. Low - a tie with Yvonne Priebe and Mardie Handyside having 48, so prize was split. This week Wed. (to-night) at the Caesarea Community Centre for a friendly evening with neighbours and friends. Nestleton United Church Although poor weather prevailed there was a fine "attendance at the Christian Family Day seryice May 10, 11:15 a.m. Welcomed into the Church' family by Baptism were Adam William Bourque, Jove Dennis Malcolm and' Christopher Scott Bronson. The Sunday School were upstairs for the service. Rev. Victor Parsons Family Day theme was entitled '"To Such as These" based on § John 5: 1-12 and Matthew 18: 1-5, 19: 13-15. An inspiring message! (From page 17) The probability = of sending a Rebel to the all- Ontario meet in Thunder Bay this year seems remote. PPHS has sent high jumper Mike Patton to the past two annual OFSAA meets. It would even take an upset for - any Rebel to make it to the Regionals, which are also held in Oshawa, considering all three girls going on finished in fourth place at Regardless, the future looks promising for the Rebs. All three girls are in their first year with the team and should return next spring. Kelly West Miss Lorinda Jackson favoured with a lovely solo, "A Highland Lullaby" accompanied by Mrs. L. Malcolm.
