Close, but not quite for girls at COSSA meet Perry High School Rebels. - Both are in their first year with the squad. Brinkman has been the biggest surprise in what has to be regarded as a dis- appointment. She worked out in an unheralded manner, in the shadow of other such noted female Rebels as Lisa McKinzey and Kira Cope. But coach Jerry Cole has been obvi- ously pleased with her performance, one praising her for "her hard work. McKinzey, Sarah Johnson, and Lisa Feasby were the other girls to advance to the COSSA get togetgher. It marked the lowest advance: ment rate in recent years for the Rebs. Still, coach Cole has stated that he was not disappointed. Summerlea golf report By Mary Correll Great Day for Golf! All the fair weather golfers turned out for league play on Tuesday May 19 at Summer- lea Golf Course - 45 alto- - gether! The béautiful weather inspired Lucy Wilson to romp in with a low gross of 39. Jean Skerratt shot a low net of 21 and Bev Vautour birdied the seventh hole. The rest of us were content not to brag about our scores as there were nicer things to look at - for example: a brilliant scarlet tanager perched against a back- ground of evergreens and. trilliums at the 4th green. MOEN ANE ROAR ATF SL FA Student seeks chance with 'World Youth Port Perry High School student Steven Nesbit attended a day long inter- view sponsered by the Canada World Youth Organi- zation in Toronto Sunday, May 24. : Mr. Nesbit, age 17, was one of ten youths in attendance at St. Peter's Church in Toronto. The group was involved in a series of seemingly childish games designed to test how the applicants interact with each other, Mr. Nesbit. was one of 365 teenagers across the country to be involved in the inter- view stage. He expects to hear from them within two weeks. They have 95 spots left to fill. The program is designed to provide workers for underprivileged countries for a short term period. Mr. Nesbitt has signed up for an eight week Ontario Militia Coarse for the summer. If successful, he would enter the next CWY phase, an -orientation course in Canada, in September. Mr. Nesbitt was. selected by a process that took into account his home, location, age, and family income. He finishes his high school this June, upon completion of 'Grade 13. WHY BUY RET AIL?
