After the 34 Comrades partook of chicken, salads, dessert and coffee, the Pre- sident, June Tymes, called the meeting to order. Dot Lee was at the piano with Marilyn Hutchinson and Bev Evans carrying the colours. The secretary, Teresa Hlozan, read the minutes and Bert Mason gave the trea- surer's report. We received a thank you from the Cancer Society for our last donation. Agnes Garvey gave her report on the sick and we were sorry to hear that she Kawartha Theatre (From page 7) sephone Theatre in Saskatoon, and a featured regular in the television comedy series King of Kensington. Robert re- cently finished in a production of "Arms and the Man" in which he portrayed Blunt- chili at the Citadel Theatre in Edmonton. Jack Northmore will re- turn to the Kawartha Sum- mer Theater after perform- ing in a very successful pro- duction of 'Life with Father', at the Bastion Theatre, where he had the leading role. Tudi Wiggins, famous for her portrayal of Mrs. Dale Hart in the successful tele- vison series, Love of Life, will -be in Lindsay for the first time. Her past credits include Broadway productions of '""There's one in every mar- riage' and "The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie'. With these three leading actors will be Margo Finley, a former student of H.B. Studio, New York. Her stage credits include Emily Dick- inson in the "Belle of Am- herst", Amanda in 'Private Lives" and Lady Audley in 'Lady Audley's Secret'. The season's lineup also includes the world premier of "The Tomorrow Box' by Anne Chislett and the North American Premier of the British bedroom farce "Sex- tet" by Michael Pertwee. Six other plays ranging from Neil Simon comedy to Agatha Christie mystery will be fea- tured, along with two child- ren's plays. Our sixteenth season should prove to be a busy and exciting one. PORT PERRY STAR -- Wednesday, June 25, 1980 -- 9 Legion Ladies Auxiliary will be sending out a couple of sympathy and get well cards. We have lost a member and a good worker, Gwen Grieven- son. She and her husband Bob have moved to Penetang. Bob has bought a grocery business in Midland. Good luck to them in their new en- deavor. Clara Warren and Mary Cannon are taking over the visiting committee. Bert Mason is taking over the social fund for Vera Knott, who has done a terrific job for a number of years. Thanks Vera for a job well done. Plans are in the making for our annual trip. This time to Lindsay for shopping, dinner and the theatre. After the regular meeting, Clara installed the new executive. Gerrow's hold 49th annual reunion by Gwen Malcolm The annual Gerrow Re- union was held on Saturday, June 14, 1980 at the Nestleton Community Centre. The weather was pleasantly warm but cloudy. Forty- seven of the Gerrow clan arrived to enjoy a time of fellowship together. Everyone was warmly welcomed by the President Inez Maundrell and Cecil Fralick. Kathy Huestis and Clarke Ross conducted a varied sports program for young and old. The oldest person present was Gordon Sweetman, Port Perry. The youngest child was Joshua Malcolm, Nestleton and Roy Gerrow, North Bay had come the greatest distance. Bonnie Gerrow and Josie Bradley arranged the attrac- tive buffet which was served at 6 p.m. At the conclusion of the bountiful meal, the president conducted a short business meeting. The new executive for 1981 are: President - Jim Gerrow, Vice President - Maunsell Gerrow, Sec-Treas. - Gwen Malcolm, Table Committee - Ivah Fralick, Marlene Brad- ley, Sports - Bob Thompson, Jean Bailey. Reception - Irva England, Doug Farn- dale. A tentative date for our 50th Celebration is Sunday, September 13 at Nestleton Community Centre. It is hoped the date chosen will encourage a large atten- dance. A discussion re Gerrow History was led by Maunsell Gerrow. With the co-opera- tion of all it is hoped to have this published in 1981. The evening concluded with Bingo and visiting.
