Many of our young people and future generations will never know about details of their heritage if we don't record it for them. A variety of persons and agencies have been attempting to document the history of the Kawarthas over the last few years but there is a great deal more which can be done. Last Sunday Mrs. Smith and her son visited the Larocque home. Karin Cummings of Orangeville visited the Bruce Cummings family last week. George Kilpatrick visited Mr. Everard Joll at New- castle last Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Martin had a tennis party of Thursday. Bruce Resson of Raglan called on George Kilpatrick on Thursday and Mr. and Mrs. Lorne Phare of Oshawa were Sunday callers with George. - Mr. and Mrs. Russel Doherty of Sarnia visited Mr. and Mrs. Norris Doherty and family over the week- end. Durham Police Report Strikes Deer A deer was struck and killed by a car on Regional Road 8, west of Port Perry. The incident took place June 21 about 11:00 PM, and resulted in $1600 damage to a. car driven by Rosemary Csercsa of Scugog Township. Dangerous Driving A charge of dangerous driving has been laid by police following a chase from Port Perry on June 20. Durham Police report the pursuit started after a car was observed on Queen Street, continued - on High- way 7A east to the Mahood Line. The car then went into the ditch and the driver was apprehended by police. Charged is Todd McKee, 19 of Blackstock. Barn Fire Durham Police are investi- gating a barn fire Friday evening which caused about $15,000 damage and destroy- ed $2000 worth of hay. The fire at the property of Thomas Martin of RR2, Port Perry was spotted by a Durham Police patrol at about 11:50. Police say the fire com- pletely destroyed the barn.
