The O.N.O. swimming bus will leave the public school . at 7:30 a.m. sharp on July 6, and 7:45 a.m. sharp the following mornings arriving home at approximately 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Scott and Karen Essery, Courtice and Nancy and Bob Bryans celebrated a "Burning .of the Chicken Barn Mortgage" party with the help of a hundred relatives, friends and business associates. Sunday the Bryans were hosts for the 11th annual picnic of the descendents of May and Morley Wilkins. On "Sunday a family gathering celebrated Roy and Shirley Turner's 35th wedding anniversary. In atfendance at this gathering were Hector and May Short- ridge who were celebrating their 41st anniversary. Congratulations. On Sunday Mr. and Mrs. Ken Gilbank hosted a family picnic and gathering. Ken's five brothers and their families were present at this happy event. Over seventy members attended from many surrounding area. A pot-luck supper was enjoyed with games for the children and much visiting as many of these relatives had not all gathered at one spot for considerable time. The St. John's Anglican Church held its anniversary service on Sunday morning. The children's choir sang special numbers. Rev. R. Rose delivedred a fine address suitable for the occasion. The congregation enjoyed a pot luck luncheon after which the children had a period of games and activities. Regular service was held at the United Church. A trio made up of Eileen McLaughlin, Thelma Wright and Jean Ferguson favoured with a fine anthem. Rev. V. Parsons displayed a certifi- cate that our church has been awarded showing that the Charge is an Honour Charge in that the 1980 M and S givings were more than 10 per cent over those of 1979. Actually Blackstock's were almost 16 over those of 1979. This is a first for this charge. Rev. V. Parsons preached a most thought-provoking sermon on Doubts. During the summer months combined services will be held. In July services will be at the Anglican Church with service at 9:30 -Mr. and Mrs. Ross Duff attended a family gathering with Ross' brother and sisters at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Sandy Moore, Prince Albert on Sunday afternoon. : Congratulations to Marlene Parsons who received a miniature Gold Award pin as a momento of the 25th: Silver Anniversary of the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme. These pins were awarded to the Gold Award Society members who have given exceptional service to the Society, and it is a great honour for Marlene that she is chosen to be so honoured. At the weekly senior citizens' card party there were fifteen with the following winners:1st Reta Cook 99; 2nd Charles Nesbitt 85; 3rd Roy Ego 84; 4th Ann Taylor 82; 5th Belle Werry 81; 6th Lorna Swain 80 and Low was Elmer Johnson.
