No. 4 Jeff Mills for the All-stars scored the first goal minutes in the beginning of the second half which was closely followed by a goal scored for the Oilers by No. 9 David Irwine. A second goal by Jeff Mills No. 4 put the All Stars in the lead again. Both _ teams were playing well when No. 6 Michael Toye tied the game for the Oilers. Jason Vermon scored for Lake Scugog and Chris Wilson scored for the Scugog Soccer team. Lake Scugog Lumber vs. Brutons Drugs June 24th saw another hard fought game between Lake Scugog Lumber and Brutons Drugs resulting in a 1-1 tie. Gretchin Cornish scored the only goal for Lake Scugog and Lesley Davis scored for Bruton Drugs. Lake Scugog Lumber vs. West Shore Marine On July 1st Lake Scugog Lumber defeated West Shore Marine 2-0. Gretchin Cornish played a good game, scoring both goals for Lake Scugog. Robin Prentice played a super game for West Shore Marine with his efforts in goal as well as forward. BRUTON MINIS DOWNED 7-1 by Flip Dalby The heat and humidity of Wednesday, July 6th, played havoc with Brutons minis as they were trounced 7-1 by West: Shore Marine. Brutons single goal was scored by Ross Stainton assisted by the consistant efforts of Jeremy Dalby, Lesley Davis and Matthew Dalby. For the victors David Sandy and Brad Martin each had a home run while Andrew Goss and Craig Hudson replied with homers for Lorne Lee. On Tuesday the junior teams took the fields in Nestleton and Blackstock. The first game had Thompson's Village Market soundly defeating Lishmans to the tune of 17 to 0. The home team Caesarea Fish and Chips defeated Davids' Hairstyling 28 to 16 in a high scoring game. Tim Dwyer hit the only home run for Caesarea and Dawn Roberts helped out by hitting two triples. The rest of the team members also played well. For David's, Eugene Mackie had a grand slam and Mindy Kellow drove in two runs in a near home run as she was called out at home plate. Boyd Van Der Huel scored a home run also for David's and Angel Traves kept her hitting average up there by not being struck out for the whole season, The other match had Don Frew and Sons at home, in - Nestleton, to Port Perry Funland. Both these teams were 'undefeated as they went into play in the battle for the first place. "Frew players were victorious 19 to 8 as both teams played an all around good game, Jeff Malcolm had the only home run for Frew. Michael Stanley made an unassisted double play for Funland while Paul Allen and David Akkerman combined to give the Funland team another double play. The final match of the week brought the remaining senior teams into action in Blackstock. The Blackstock Lions defeated Port Perry Kinsmen?7 to 5. In this game Kevin Ferguson had 2 home runs for Lions with Bob Hoogeveen and Phillip Malin each adding single homers. For Kinsmen Sheri Jones hit the only home run in a well played game.
