Strong effort leads to tie with top team Port Perry Auto -1 Kinsmen -1 by Brian Mark : The league leading Kins- men team was lucky to come out of this soccer game with Playoffs (From page 14) Last, but not least, the Senior league semi-final game was played in Black- stock on Thursday evening with the Blackstock Lions team hosting the Lorne Lee Construction team. After the first three innings the score was knotted at 1 to 1 as the players on both teams were determined to hold the other In the fourth inning the Lions team put the game out of reach and held on to win 14 to 1. Randy Brown had to clutch hits for the Lee team and Darryl Luke, Sue Roberge and Steven Hudson all made excellent catches for the Lee team. For the Lions team Kevin Ferguson pitched a very strong game and helped his own cause by slugging a triple. Good luck to the Lions as they meet now in the championship game against Haines Esso. This match will most probably provide a great finish to the senior season. To the two senior teams now eliminated, who are, Lorne Lee Construction and Port Perry Kinsmen we say, "Thank you" and hope you all enjoyed yourselves this summer. $e ITROPHIES! and ! A plucky perform- ance by the Port Perry Auto team saw them keep the skilful and strong running of Brian Appleby and Kris Lavereau within check during the first half. Strong prompting by Neil Mark saw the 'Auto team eventually score with a shot by Graham Sullivan. T. J. Adams was unlucky on two occasions - with shots on goal. Strong running by Dan Stone and John Cottrell was thwarted by the superb defending of Ethan Lavereau and Pat Muldoon. Young Patrick, on one of his forays upfield, lofted the ball over the out- stretched arms of the Port Perry Auto's goalie, Michael Butt, to level the score against the run of play. Christopher Yuill played a stormer in the Kinsmen team as did Vince Criscione and Ryan Free in the Auto team.
