Congratulations too, to Myra and Clarence Page who are 40 years married today, Sunday October 11 and observed their Anni- versary by being hosted to dinner at the Gatehouse Restaurant by their sister and brothers. The Pages were married on a similar bright sunny day 40 years ago by Rev, A. W. Harding in Bethany and Clarence had brother Harold as Best Man and Myra was supported by Florence (Curtis) Bray as brides- maid, now of Hairy Hills, Alberta. Sorry to learn that a former resident of our community Mr. Bert Gibson is a patient in Oshawa General Hospital with a heart condition and offer best wishes for a speedy recovery. Thanksgiving Sunday combined with Communion Service was held in Yelverton United Church with a large attendance. Mr. Dennis Franzky officiating assisted by Rev. Bruce Harrison from Cannington. Elders Art Rowan and Harvey Malcolm assisted Rev. Harrison with the Communion. Mrs. Linda Pfoh presided at the organ and Messrs, Darryl and Quentin Robinson were the ushers. Long weekend guests visiting with their families included, Mr. and Mrs. David Robinson and Tanya of Stroud with the Balfour Moores. Mr. and Mrs.. Jim Beggs and family of Port Elgin with the Norman Wilsons. Pleased to learn that Jims dad, Percy Beggs will be released from hospital to spend Thanksgiving week- end with the family. At Sunday service we were particularly pleased to meet and greet Rev. Bruce Harrison of Cannington whom we hadn't seen since his tenure in the Blackstock charge serving Nestleton almost 40 years ago. Glad to report Jimmy Gray is progressing very favourably since returning home from Peterborough Hospital, even driving to Toronto and back to see a sick relative. Sorry to learn that Mr. Malcolm Emmerson passed away in Port Perry hospital over the week end. He was a quiet unassuming Christian gentleman, a helpful neighbour and held in the highest regard by all.
