Building value takes plunge Although the value of building permits issued by Scugog Township in' October was the lowest of any month so far this year, 1981 is still shaping up as a. banner construction year when compared to 1980. The value of permits issued in October plunged to $151,000 with just one new single family home (plus ~ four apartment renovations) However, the number of single family home permits this year now stands at 101, compared to just 56 issued during all of 1980. And these figures are reflected in the total value of permits issued so far this year which is '$7,501,327, compared with $3,884,538 in vations permits issued during 1980. These values include single family homes, reno- and repairs, garages, commercial, indus- trial and agriculture additions. The marked improvement in the value of building permits in Scugog Township this year is in keeping with Durham Region in general where several municipalities including Oshawa are' on . their way to record or near record years in new con- struction. In fact, Scugog Township this year is now close to, surpassing the 1979 figures when the value of permits issued amounted to - $7,667,495.
