In actual fact, 1,000 feet of pipe has been laid in order to drain the property. Previous spring thaws have forced past (and present) curators to invest in vast quantities of sports equip- ment (i.e. hip waders, scuba diving gear, swimsuits, etc.) Last year, regional work- men lowered the culvert to let the water drain to the savings & loan corporation 5Year Annual Interest east, under the Island road. Though this did not eliminate the problem, it did proye helpful, as there were only two floodings last spring. The year before there were five. Obviously such flood- ings' can cause serious damage to both the artifacts and the buildings them- selves. Let us hope, for the sake of preserving your history, that the drainage system is successful. HELPFUL HINTS To clean aluminum window frames - try a cream silver polish.
