The DHIC, as it is now known, has taken the place of the original Dairy Herd Improvement Association in Ontario, which was origin- ally operated by the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture & Food. DHIC is now a private company with directors being elected by the Dairy Farmers of Ontario. "The purpose of DHIC provide butterfat and protein testing and through these provide the Dairy Farmer with information to aid him in selection of breeding stock for the herd. Guest speaker for the evening was Lorne Small, General Manager of DHIC. He outlined the operation of the new Corporation and discussed the use of Sometic Cell Count in mastitis control in the dairy cow. Chairman of the meeting was Gordon Barrie of Bowmanville.
