This fall has seen a major effort going into trail development. Work crews have been out each weekend opening up new trails and improving existing ones. This season, with the pur- chase of a new Alpine grooming machine, the pro- gram of trail maintenance is to be stepped up. The Club over the years, has reached written agree- ments with many land- &) a A - EN VINCIAL LOAF € AREA owners permitting snowmo- biles onto their private lands. This has given Club riders a very extensive trail system, reaching into all parts of the Scugog area, and connecting with the trails of affiliated clubs. Other snow- mobilers are reminded that entering trails on private lands, without the specific permission granted to Club members can contravene the Ontario Trespass Act: and, violators could easily find themselves in serious diffi- culties in many circum- stances. The Port Perry Snowmobile Club en- courages every snowmobiler to be a member, regardless of how involved in Club activities they wish to become. A Club membership with its specific permission, offers protection to the rider; and, is his contribu- tion towards good trails and better facilities. The Club this year is con- tinuing its programs in relation to safety, personal responsibility and other community involvements. The M.T.C. Snowmobile Operator's Safety Training Course, especially important for young people starting to ride, will be offered again this year. The CORSA Snow- a-rama for Crippled Chil- dren takes place on January 31st. Many riding and other social activities are on the Club Calendar for the season including a two day trail ride to Bancroft and return,%a Ride in Breakfast and Poker Rally, Ice Drag Races etc. The next general meeting to which all are invited takes place Sunday Dec. 13th at 2:00 p.m. and includes a visit from Santa for the young ones.
