Keene, Gilbertsville, New York. Mr. Keene did a smooth, efficient job of placing the high powered Holstein classes. Romandale Farms Ltd. Unionville "had an excep- tionally good day. They chalked up points in the individual classes to win the Premier Breeder banner and took home the Honourable George S. Henry Trophy for their Breeder's Herd (3). Romandale Tradition was the first Junior Bull (6). The climax of the day came when their first prize Mature Cow (15), the familiar show veteran, Northcroft Ella Elevation, owned with George M. Knight, Pennsyl- vania, was declared Grand Champion and best uddered female. The garland of roses and other mementos were awarded to this strong, powerful good uddered 1980 All-American, Round Oak Rag Apple Elevation, Aged Cow. Judge Keene chose Ella over the second Aged Cow. and Reserve Grand Champion, Tora Triple Threat Lulu owned by Premier Exhibitor Hanover Hill Holsteins, Port Perry on height and fullness of rear udder and her shoulder: Also in the impressive parade for Grand cow was the first prize Two-Year-Old (21) and best udder in her class, Heather Holme Warden Echo bred by Clifford E. McNeil, Goderich and owned by James A. Walker and Sons, Guelph. Romandale offered beautiful silver bowls to the breeders of the first place animals in each of the milking classes. Topping the eighteen Three- Year-Olds was A Willowcrag Kate Mar Kara shown by Cormdale Farms. Inc. Georgetown and bred by Carl Miller, Ohio. The three year old best udder and Erle Kitchen Memorial Trophy for the highest composite BCA index was also won by cow. Jane Bell Holloway, Interlaken, New York was on hand to receive the breeder trophy. Hanover Hill's A Shaverside Apollo Sherrn won the Dry Mature Cow class (6). Heading for the Dry Four and Five Year Old class (9) was Pickland Fury Echo owned by Claude F. Picket, Georgetown. For Junior Champion the Judge went with the first Intermediate Heifer (34), Mibelson Ned Betty Ana - ET owned by Ross Carson, South Durham, Quebec. He described her as being most correct in all parts. Betty- Ana later sold in the Royal Classic sale for $26,000.00. Reserve Junior Champion was Rivendel Ultimate Dolly shown by Browndale Farm, Paris. This first Senior Heifer (19) also sold in the sale for $7,100.00. The first Junior Heifer (23) was Ebyholme Convincer Rits, the -entry of Ebyholme Farms Ltd. Ayr. Both Champion Males were chosen from the Senior Bull section (5) and described as being sound and correct. Hanover Hill Ansil, sired by Elevation, placed over Nipponia Ability-Red owned by Nipponia Holsteins, Puslinch. Jaclin Ted shown by Ralph Dunton and Sons and the Estate of D. Hunter Cation, Inglewood, placed first in the Inter- mediate Bull class (4). Premier Sire of the show was Quality Ultimate. The Progeny of Rowntree Sham- rock Symbol won for Rown- tree Firms Ltd. Brampton. The Junior Showmanship Competition was held at noon. Donald McIntosh, Okotoks, Alberta judged many keen 4-H members. David Evans, Caistor Centre won the special Lawara Farms Trophy.
