McClelland As the Junior C hockey season passes the mid-point, the Port Perry MoJacks are playing like it was the first day of training camp. MoJacks turned in their poorest home ice perform- ance this season Sunday night when they were doubled 8 - 4 by the Lindsay Muskies. And Saturday night in Lit- EN RADAR RRR RL & bo vA Muskie forward on this play Sunday night at the Scugog Arena, as defenseman John Robertson guards the net. Gibson faced 42 shots tle Britain, the MoJacks had to come from behind to take a 10 - 7 victory over the Merchants. At one point in the game against Little Brit- ain, the MoJacks trailed 7 - 4, but six unanswered goals were enough to pull out the victory. On Sunday night at the Scugog Areana, the Muskies used strong forechecking against a MoJack offence that sputtered and coughed all evening and never mount- ed any kind of sustained scoring threats. In the first period alone, MoJacks were outshot 16 - 2, and had it not been for a strong performance in the nets by Ray Gibson, MoJacks would have been out of the game after the first 20 minutes. Lindsay soon tied the score 1-1, Lindsay took the lead early in the second period. Port Perry was unable to tie the game until the 5:37 mark of the third period, when Scott Feasby scored with assists going to Dave Burnett and Rob by Pickering Baker. The final score was tied 2-2. Wees hosted the Bowman- ville Major Pee Wees for a return exhibition game on Fri. Dec. 4th. In a show of fast skating and quick passing Port Perry lost to Bowmanville 5-2. Bowmanville scored the lone - marker of the first period with Port missing many chances, The visitor's scored again early in' the second period but Port's Rob Baker soon tallied a goal with assists going to Scott Feasby and Warren Geer. Bowmanville scored again to bring the tally at the end'of the second period to 3-1. Steve Durham scored Port Perry's second goal after picking up a rebound from a shot by Dave Burnett and Bob Goble. Before the final buzzer Bowmanville tallied two more goals. The Bowman- ville team was heavily penalized with a total of 28 minutes and Port getting 10 minutes. Steve Whalen and Kevin Cearns shared the goal tending duties. MoJacks hit the mid-season skids Sharman scored for the Muskies and then two min- utes later Paul Ellis made it 3-1as Lindsay began to take control of the game. Sharman with his second and Kyle Campbell rounded out the Lindsay scoring in the second. Mark Jeffery with his second of the night, replied for the MoJacks. Lindsay went ahead 6 - 2 early in the third and then MoJacks mounted their only threat of the evening as Brad Hurst and Mike Geer scored to make it 6 - 4. But the cruncher came at 11:09 with Muskies a man short and Bob Ruth grabbed a loose puck at his blue line, raced down the ice and beat Gibson to make it 7 - 4. Ron Sharman added the final Muskie goal late in the third period. The game was chippy throughout and at times downright dirty with a lot of high sticking, slashing and elbowing. MoJacks took 16 minors, one major and a game misconduct, while the Muskies took 18 minors, two majors and two game mis- conducts. w Mike Mitchell and Bob . Wildman both' had three assists for the MoJacks, but high scorers Todd Wilbur and Tim Thompson were kept off the score sheet completely. That was not the case Saturday night in Little Brit- ain where Wilbur popped home three goals and three assists, and Thompson had two goals and three assists. Brian Mikkelsen had two goals and two assists. Jamie Bird, Charlie Brown and Wayne Middleton rounded out the scoring for the Mo- Jacks. Jamie Ingram and John McGuire both had a pair for, the Merchants. MoJacks are idle until this Sunday, December 13 when the Lakefield Chiefs visit the Scugog Arena. The main problem for the team against the Muskies seemed to be a lack of intensity.
