Isn't this the nicest time of year with Christmas greetings coming from all directions. Some from people we haven't heard from since last year. Christmas is love, lets make it the best one ever. Our congratulations to Henry and Wilmer DeWolde and family of Bra-Ma-Rod farm, for their prize winning entries at the Royal Winter fair last month. Their swine won several prizes - their Reserve Champion Duroc boar sold second highest in the sale of stars - we wish them continued sucess. With the DeWolde family, farm- ing is a family affair! Congratulations to Dr. John McKinney, on being presented with a plague commemorating 50 years of Faithful service in Beethoven Lodge 165 Brook- lin. Members from Ashburn were among those who attended the meeting for the presentation on Monday night of last week. There was a good attend- ance at the Kirk guild Cookie and Receipe exchange meet- ing on Dec. 2nd. For the program Joan Fleming, Sharon Emm, Diane Batten and Margaret Mathews put on a very humorous skit, which proved that country people were anything but stupid. Two lovely readings were given by Norma Engle- ton and Ruth Wood. Watch for interesting things coming up in the new year in the guild. : Mr. and Mrs. E. Huron spent a couple of days with Mr. and Mrs. W. Reynolds and family of Ancaster and and sister reunion: Dont't forget to save your stamps from the Christmas cards and letters and bring them to the church. They will be put to good use. r. and Mrs. Alfred enjoyed a Christmas Brother. Fisher enjoyed a visit recently with Mr. and Mrs. Frank Mitchell of Deep River and also visited 'with Mr. and Mrs. Allan Walsh and family of Peterborough. The community was sadd- ened last week to learn of the death of Mr. Walter Anderson in Toronto. Walter was born here and lived until' he went to Toronto to further his education and became a teacher at Ryerson Institute. He will be missed by his friends here. The ladies Bible class and members of the W.M.S. group and the "men folk enjoyed a pot luck supper together on Wed. evening of last week. The president Catherine Humphrey conducted the meeting and gave a beautiful Christmas meditation. - Bernie Gradner read the - scripture. Nellie Hopkins was in charge of the program and she told some beautiful legends of Christmas by candlelight. Jean McEntyre sang a lovely solo and Rose Huron played a piano solo that are fitted in with the theme of the eveing. The community centre was filled to capacity last Friday evening for the annual Christmas concert. Each age group from the tots up to adults contributed a nice number for the program and much appreciation is due to Rose and Maureen Reid for coordinating and for the music. Santa arrived with treats for the children. A very special Christmas party will be held next Sunday morning at Church 'School at 10 A.M. All children and parents and everyone are invited to attend. There will be carol singing, the Christmas story and special music, food and fun so please come and enjoy. 4169852618 TERRA STEEL AFFORDABLE BUILDING SYSTEMS FOR FARM AND INDUSTRY MURDOCK R.
