--a--_ Christmas Story by Krista Hazelwood May happiness always dwell with you. From our house to your Mas ANN house . .. thanks. N A HANK'S PASTRIES "Oh! Dear!Oh! Dear!" said Santa Claus. "what am I going to do, I'll be late?" "I should of lost some weight so I could work faster" said Santa. "Oh! Dear! Oh! Dear!" whined Santa Claus. While Santa Claus was working, Mrs. Claus was gathering pennies for the good children. The elves were busy packing the pre- sents into a gigantic brown bag. The reindeer were busy picking candy canes, car- amels, gumsticks and chocolate bars off the candy trees. The reindeer put the candies in a box by the door ready for Santa to take to the sleigh. The elves had just got the presents packed when Santa was ready to choose the reindeer who were to pull the sleigh. "Come here Twinkle "an elf you will write down the names of the reindeer who are to pull the sleigh." said Santa. "Let's see, Dasher gets 0, lift your heads high as we join together and sing His praises on this holiest of holidays! Peace and love! Meanwhile Dasher and Dancer were fighting over who was to lead the sleigh. Suddenly a red bright light shone from a holly hedge. It was Rudolph! "Come here my fine boy, you will guide my sleigh tonight" said Santa. Slowly and shyly Rudolph went to the front of the reindeer. The reindeer bowed their heads. Santa got into the sleigh and pulled up his sack. The elves had just finished a snowman when the snow- man started to dance around Santa and the reindeer. He was singing carols. The elves, Santa and the reindeer gazed in astonish- ment. Then the snowman went back to where the elves had made him. Then sparkling little angels came out of the sky. They to started singing carols. Then fluffy little things came from behind the hedge. "They were little tortoise- shell kittens. They formed a little circle. They started meowing. The choir made a beautiful sight. Santa started up the motor, pressed the gas peddle, put the headlights on and said good-bye. Santa was off in a flash. Meanwhile Mrs. Claus was tidying up the house. Every- thing was out of order. The elves were making the barn ready for the reindeer. They bedded the reindéer's stalls. One elf had to get a broom. As he was going out he seen Jack Frost painting the - windows 'Hi Jack." said Twinkle. "Hello Twinkle, I can't have a chat with you this time because I'm late" said Jack. "Ok. bye Jack." said Twinkle. A disapointed elf sat on a stump beside the house. He was sad because the elves ignored him. He decided to do a great thing for Santa. He noticed Santa's suit was getting a bit - > Frnt PEACE... AT CHRISTMAS That all may share peace, good will is our holiday wish. COMMUNITY NURSING tight. This elf was a bit dumb. He decided to make Santa at least the top part of his suit. He wasn't thinking like a smart elf would, but he thought 'it might be in a cookbook. The dumb elf (Joey) looked in the 'cook- book for ingredients to make Santa a suit. They didn't seem to be there. Joey decided to make Santa a Christmas card. It isn't the kind of card you would have. "Let's see one pound of sugar, icing, sparkles' said Joey. "That will be enough" said Joey. It ended up to be a beautiful card."It is a beautiful but I must do something else". sighed Joey. "I will start some toys for next year. Joey worked fast- er than ever, Meanwhile Santa was just squeezing up the chimney of the last house. He got out of the chimney and into his sleigh. Back at the workshop Joey had a pile of toys made. Right now he was making a rocking horse. Just then Santa arrived at the house. He turned off the motor and lights. Then he untied the reindeer. With a bound Santa march- ed into the shop. In astonish- ment he saw all the toys and little Joey working on a horse. 'Well did you make all these toys?" asked Santa "Yes." replied Joey shyly. "That's very nice of you". said Santa and he went out- side. Santa went outside to get some boards from the shed to make Joey a house, He had a kitchen, bedroom and livingroom. Santa made furniture to go in the house. It was getting very late so Joey decided to go to bed. As he was walking from the shop he spied Santa out of the corner of his eye Joey decided to see if he could help Santa. "Hello may I help you?" asked Joey. "Certainly, certainly." replied Santa. "As a matter of fact you could to the shed and get me some more boards please," said Santa. Joey ran to the shed and was back with a pile of boards. Santa was almost late "By the way could you tell me what you are making?" Joey asked "Well because you made the toys I decided to reward you" said Santa. "Oh! Thankyou" replied Joey. "That is very nice of you Santa" said Joey. "Say Merry Christmas to everyone, for me please because I'm going to have a couple of days sleep" said Joey wearily. "Bye" said Santa. ) "Well folks I'll have to do what Joey told me" said Santa. "Merry Christmas and thanks to Joey we don't have to make toys next year" said Santa.
