The meeting closed with the Mizpah Benediction. On Sat: Dec. 12, we had 23 tables of euchre and quite a few extra prizes as this was our Christmgs euchre. Dec. 16, a lovely Christmas dinner to 153 Senior Citizens was catered by- the Riverboat Rest- aurant, This was beautifully served and thoroughly enjoyed. A programme of Old Tyme Music, Square Dancing, Skits, Solos and our own Senior Citizen's Choir, Richard Osborn, guest entertainer, was enjoyed for around 2 hours, bringing a lovely evening to a close. Approximately 50 men and women enjoyed a delicious Christmas Dinner last Wed- nesday evening at the Port Perry Legion Hall when the local Rotary Club with the co-operation of the Legion, and Ladies Auxiliary wined and dined the group. Most guests attending the meal were picked up at their homes by Rotary members and brought to the Legion where Santa Claus greeted them and pinned on a corsage. Prior to dinner entertain- ment was provided by a three piece Combo and after dinner the GM Choir enter- tained with Christmas Carols and Sing-A-Long. According to a Rotary spokesman, the goal of the evening when they began planning the event was to get as many elderly people out as possible who may not get a Christmas dinner other- wise. Because of the success of last week's dinner, it is felt that the event may become an annual happening and organizers feel that there is no doubt that it will grow in popularity. UCW meeting December U.C.W. meeting was held at the home of Mrs. Cameron Aldred. An enjoy- able evening of Christmas carols - poems and readings was enjoyed by 16 members. Business was conducted and future dates noted. The evening closed with lunch Mezhpa Benediction. January meetings at home of Margaret Morrow. . The U.C.W. euchre was well attended, but there is room for more players. Men high went to Bessie Spencer, men 2nd high to Barbara Brown, low men Elmer Brown, Ladies high Deanna Slade, Ladies 2nd Myrtle Gimlet, low - Mildred Thompson.
