As in the past the tour. was a big success and well received by all involved. This year two of our teams went all the way on the 'A' and 'B' sides. The following is a synopsis of scores involving our local Caution, please! The Port Perry Snow- mobile Club has noted several incidents of unsafe snowmobile operation now that the season is underway. Those riding should remind themselves of the lethel potential of their motorized vehicle. There would seem to be a substantial increase of reckless operation at the hands of young riders this - year. Parents should note that "the operation of a motorized - snow vehicle by a person without a valid Drivers Licence or Snow Vehicle Drivers Licence, which is obtained' as a result of the Ministry of Transport Safety Training Course, is illegal in any public area. As a licence is' no guarantee of good sense, young riders should remain under supervision and be made aware that a snowmobile is no "toy". Riders are reminded of some of the more important rules and recommendations 'that should be observed. Driving on roads is one of the most serious dangers that exists for a snowmobiler. Stay off roads wherever possible. Cross only at 90 degrees. The speed limit on roads in built up areas and in parks (Palmer Park) is 20 km-h. In built up areas, "avoid major arteries and proceed as directly as possible out to the snow- mobiling areas. Excessive speed is a killer. Slow down at night, when visability is poor, and when ever you cannot see ahead. Practice and preach good snowmobile operation and lets have a safe and happy season. p -Beacock's 2, second straight loss for Port Perry at the hands of the Chiefs, and the MoJacks have been defeated in five of their last six starts.
