Annual Meeting of Nestleton Hall Committee The Nestleton Hall Committee held their annual meeting and election of Officers on Wednesday evening with Chairman John Goss presiding. Mr. John Wolters, Black- stock, chaired the meeting for the election of Officers for 1982. The slate elected for the ensuing year is as follows: Chairman - John Goss; Vicechairman - Oliver Rohrer; Secretary - Pat Dearborn; Treasurer Warren Rohrer; Publicity - Donna Linington; Members at large - Norm Mairs, Bill Linington and Howard Abbott. Chairman John Goss thanked committee members Jean Williams for her untiring efforts in book- . ing the Hall for engagements - and Jean is continuing with this position in 1982. He also thanked Marilyn Dickson and presented her with a small gift in appreciation of her efforts during the year. A report of finances for the building project re- a meet- ing room downstairs was presented. At the present time $1100.00 has been turned in and more money has been pledged - to be available after work on the room has commenced. At the close of the meeting refreshments were enjoyed by those present. Church News Sunday was a beautiful, sunny day and many worshippers turned out for the Nestleton United Church Service. Rev. John Smith in his inimitable style held the children's interest with a fine story re - love and St. Valentine. The children's Hymn was sung, "Jesus, Loves Me". Sermon topic, "In Freely Acting Love" - a very interesting message for Valentine's Day. It is also written as a song which was sung by the congregation, led by the choir. A second number was sung by the four part choir, "True-hearted, Whole hearted" one of the older hymns; with Mrs, Gwen Malcolm, organist. The World's Day of Prayer Service will be "hosted" by Nestleton United Church on Friday, March 5th, 2 p.m. More information later. There are also Cardinals but they don't stay long. Ross and Barbara Floyd and Grace Evans had supper at the home of Doris and Allen Hockley of Unionville in honour of their mother's birthday. Many happy returns of the day to our friend Gladys Evans of Ux- bridge. We are pleased to know that Mr. Wm. Goslin is feel- ing better. He has been suffering with a back ail- ment for some time. The U.C.W. met at Ruth Ashton's home last Tues. A very enjoyable evening, all enjoyed the beautiful slides shown by Dr. Pat Asling. Jan Asling of Whitby spent the week - end with her grand-parents. Julie Ashton celebrated her 16th birthday having seven or eight school friends home from Fri. evening till Sat. evening. Her brothers Rob and Jamie got out and stayed with Grandma Asling. We are glad to hear Wayne Ford is now improving. Having part of his hand severed in an accident which required. a_seventeen hour operation in T.G.H. to re- attach. This wasn't a com- plete success so had to be followed by another operation. We all hope things will go smoothly now. Wayne is Mrs. Hansen's newest son- in-law.
