PI; ~~ Wedding : BRS 1%) AN EAR CLAN ad a NEE A lovely fall wedding took place on October 10th, 1981 at Forward Baptist Church in Cambridge. The bride, Gail Leslie eldest daughter of Mrs. M. Rickard and the late C.J. Rickard of Cambridge were united in marriage to Bryan Douglas, son of Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Sleep of Nestleton, Ontario. . Rev. Ernest Kennedy officiated at the ceremony. Wedding music was pro- vided by Mrs. Marie Pearce, organist and Mr. Don Hill, soloist, who sang - the Hymn and © Promise Me. Given in marriage by her | uncle, the bride wore a beau- tiful gown with a fitted bodice accented by bishop sleeves of chantilly lace, frimmed with seed pearls, and featuring a sweetheart | neckline. The tiered skirt of erganza was edged in wide ehantilly lace and fashioned into a pinafore style at the back edged in scalloped - ¢hantilly lace and was held in place by a headpiece of Jace and pearls. She carried a bouquet of white straw flowers, pink sweetheart roses and baby's breath. The maid of honour was Christine Rickard, sister of the bride. Cecil Tiller Wilson-Nottingham "A summer wedding took place on August 15, 1981 at Grace United Church, Scugog Island. The bride, Elizabeth Catherine, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. James Wilson, was united in marriage to Paul Edward, son of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Nottingham of Caesarea. The bride was given in marriage by her eldest brother Kenneth Wilson. Her maid of honor was Nancy Nottingham-Reid, sister of the groom and bridesmaids tte were Carol Snyders, sister of the bride, Teresa Notting- ham, niece of the groom and Tracy Wade, friend of the bride. The best man was Brian Smith, friend of the groom and the ushers were Gord Bray, friend of the groom, Ed Wilson, brother of the bride and Gary Nottingham. brother of the groom. Kim James of Blackstock acted as maid of honour, wearing a mauve chiffon gown. Bridesmaids, Pauline Gardiner, sister-in-law of the bride, Vicki and Kristina Puterbough, nieces of the bride wore pink, blue, and yellow chiffon gowns. Flower girls Angela Kap- uscinski, niece of the bride, and Michelle Norton, niece of the groom, were dressed in matching green chiffon gowns. The best man was Dave McKenzie of Claremont. The ushers were Doug Rowe, brother of the groom, and Randy and Ronnie Kapuscinski, nephews of the bride. The ringbearer was Dwayne Vanderlight, nephew of the groom. Following the ceremony a reception was held in Clare- mont Legion Hall. : Attending the ceremony was the bride's sister and family from Victoria, B.C. The bride and groom left .for a honeymoon in the Hali- burton Highlands. The couple now reside in Markham. I . CA pT Morrison-Gorrill A very pretty Christmas wedding took place on Satur- day December 26, 1981 at 3:00 p.m. at the home of the bride's parents, when rings and vows were exchanged by Carol Anne Morrrison and Brian Charles Gorrill. The bride is the only daughter of Lawrence and Katherine Morrison, R.R. 3 Little Britain, and the groom is the .eldest son of Charles and Ruth Gorrill, Little Britain. Baskets of Poinsettas and Candelabros around the fire- place formed a pretty setting, while the wedding music was played. Mrs. Barbara Grainer, Terry Obie was guitarist and soloist and sang "Annies Song." Rev. Wm. Fairley was the officiating clergy- man. The bride was given in marriage by her parents, as she left her father's arm, she presented her mother with a single rose. She looked charming in a white chiffon gown over taffet, featuring a fittled lace bodice and spaghetti - straps. - The blousom chiffon overlay jacket had dolman sleeves and ring sheered necklin. She carried a white Bible, with dusty rose and white silk roses with baby's breath and long long white velvet streamers, and she wore matching flowers in her hair. Mrs. Chris Obie of Manilla, - girlfriend of the bride, was matron of honor. The bridesmaids were Mrs. Janice Morrison of Little Britain, and Mrs. Debbie Morrison of Oshawa, sister- in-laws of the bride. They all wore dresses of grape colour silk knit with chiffon capes which were trimmed with matching satin ribbon and carried nosegays of dusty rose and white silk flowers with baby's breath, also baby's breath in their hair. Susan Morrison of Little Britain, niece of the bride was flower gr, wearing a dress of the same colour as the bridesmaids, trimmed with white lace and ribbon. She carried a little basket of matching silk flowers. Assisting the groom as best man was his brother James Gorrill of Sunderland. Ushers were Jerry. Gorrill of Little Britain, brother of the groom and Glen Morrison of Oshawa, brother of the bride. They all wore dusk blue tuxedoes with white silk carnation boutenniers. At the reception and dance in Little Britain Community Centre banquet room, the guest were received by the bride and groom's parents. The bride's mother in a dusty rose polyester silk dress, with a sweetheart neckline, chiffon sleeves. She wore a corsage of silk orchids and matching flowers in her hair. The bridegroom's mother is 3a blue polyester silk dress with shiered bodice and long sleeves. Her corsage was of silk orchids. Acting as master of cere- monies was Ronald Morrison of Little Britain, brother of the bride. For travelling the bride chose a dress of burgandy polyester, terry Knit, spaghetti straps with dainty embroidery at bodice front and matching jacket.
