O'Reilly On March 13, 1982 a unique musical concert will be presented at Town Hall 1873 Port Perry. The program features a local artist by the name of Hugh Baird per- forming both by himself and along with a group of Port Graduate Private Scott Wilkinson, son of Mr. and Mrs. W. N. Wilkinson, of Blackstock graduated Feb. 25-82 from CFB Borden to continue training as a Land Vehicle Technician. Perry High's senior music students. Included in the program is music specially arranged, scored and written by the students involved. The evening includes many standard, tenor repertoire classics such as "Ave Maria by Franz Schubert" to the ever popular song from "Moulin Rouge" and "I Could Have Danced All Night". Accompanying Hugh on the piano and guitar will be Mr. Russ Baird of the Port Perry High School Music Depart- ment. A special feature to this year's show will be the Port Perry High Jazz Choir. This outstanding group of young people is a national finalist in the Canadian Stage Band Festival. The newly formed choir will be an exciting compliment to the program. Artist Hugh Baird was born in Scugog and attended Port Perry High School. His successful dairy farming business in Saintfield allows Hugh to perform private concerts twice daily to his guernseys. He has a lyracal, charming and exciting voice that will enthrall young and old alike. All proceeds will go towards assisting the Jazz Choir and Fusion Bands attend the National Finals. "This is only a rough estimate, but we are hoping for a surplus of about this amount," said the Mayor. He said the finance committee would like to set aside about $80,000 for the municipal projects fund, and start working towards build- ing up a cash reserve of funds to cut down on the need for short-term bank borrow- ing.
