Mr. and Mrs. Merv Pugh were in Trout Creek last week-end visiting with their son Ivan and his wife Linda. Ten tables of euchre were filled Thursday evening at Prince Albert Hall. Ladies high went to Hilda Wallace, second was Edna Manns and low was Rachel Forsythe and on the mens side I see they needed their usual help from the gals - high was Myrtle Allsop, second Owen Gray and low was Charlie Students receive literary awards At a District Zone Conven- tion held in Uxbridge Legion on March 14th, three Scugog students received beautiful | plaques and certificates re- sulting from their original efforts last November. Heather McDougall, Port Perry High School won 1st place for het Senior Poem category. Mark Kendall, R.H. Cornish won 1st place for his Junior poem category. Anthony Duivesteyn, Cart- wright High, won 2nd place for his Intermediate poem. These three students were. in competition with approx- imately 15 other students from Oshawa and Bowman- ville areas at this level. Their work is to be judged next by Provincial Command when more awards and money will be available. Dennie. On Thurs. Four ladies from Prince Albert attended 'World Day: of Prayer" held at Scugog Island Church. These ladies were Florence Smith, Pat. Love, Janet Vernon and Norma Robinson, Thursday evening passed Les and Grace Beacock went down to Brooklin to enjoy supper with their son Grant. Some of the older folk would remember Roy Hunter who resided his younger years with his parents on the former Norm Wilson farm, Roy passed away at age 86. Prince Albert sends out sympathy to - his son Scott in Peterborough and his brothers Arthur ang Fred. Sympathy also to a former village fellow Mr. Sid Burnett of Oshawa, he lost his wife recently. Mrs. Albert Harper from Port Perry and Mr. and Mrs. Howard Jeffrey travelled up to Lindsay a week ago Mon- day and visited with Mr. and Mrs. G. Plaunt. A week ago Tuesday, Prince Albert was well represented at St. Marks United Church Whitby, it was the annual Spring Presbyterial. Beth Pereman, Dorthy Hope, Grace Beacock, Janet Vernon, Pat Love and Andira Jones attended from hese. Clint and Marj Chambers 'had their grandson with them for the week end while John and Bonnie along with Neil and Denise enjoyed the week end ski-dooing at their cottage. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Arm- strong were in Campbellford on Sunday, they visited Mr. and Mrs. Stan Kerr and saw the Campbellford figure skating club in action, their " niece 5 year old Karen Kerr was part of the show.
