The program was given by Lill on Community Friendship which involved visitations in the local community and ways and means of keeping the community closeness with the local church. Wor- ship service was opened with a prayer by Lill which was followed by Scripture read-. ing from Gal. 6, verses 2-5. The meditation was entitled Together and Alone and was read by Alice Ross. Hymn 296 was sung, offering taken and dedicated. This was followed by hymn 126. Closing prayer was given by Vera Taylor. Bruce McLeod on his visit to El Salvador. A discussion took place regard- ing the desire for a bazaar on projects. Lill has agreed to be in charge of 'the bazaar and also at the next meeting to show how to crochet some of the things which she has made. Preparatons were made for the catering of a banquet on April 5th. The. meeting was adjourned by the President with the Lord's Prayer and a delicious lunch was served by the group in charge. A special thank-you was given to Mrs. Lindsay for the use of her home. Winners of Friday's euchre in the hall were Ladies 1st - to Ruby Birkett, 2nd -Eva Evans, and low to Viola Campsall. Men's 1st Harold McDiarmid, 2nd Clarence Masters and Ernie Luke was low. Freeze-out winners were Clarence and Nerda Masters and Johnston and Mary Poots were second. The Lion's Club - from the Cart- wright area - has been most generous - giving a donation of $100.00 to assist with the project. Many Lions, as well as a number of other community minded people are on hand to help in any way they can. A great community effort for a worthy cause!
