The. students did extremely well in the com- petition winning first place in three of the four cat- egories open to High School students, as well as winning a number of other awards. April 28, 1982 Local students bring home awards from Science Fair Iris Nimz who took 1st in intermediate Biology plus winning the Durham College Faculty award for Biological Science, and the Durham Region Veterinarians award. In addition, Iris's project was chosen as one of the fairs four top exhibits winning her a trip to repre- sent Durham Region at the Canada Wide Science Fair at York University in May. Karen McKelvey took 1st in the senior Biology (Karen is a grade 11 student and was competing against grade 12 and 13 students. Karen is also the first Port Perry student ever to enter a Senior division project). Congratulations should go to all of the students who participated and represent- ed Port Perry so well. Epsom and area news John and Edith Anne MacManiman co-hosted the Social Club at their monthly meeting at Utica Church. Our 4-H girls are busy preparing for their Achieve- ment day. Locally it will be in Trinity Hall, Uxbridge May 8. Don't forget "Summer Breeze" a music evening in - Port Perry High School Thurs. May 29. The money is to help the choir appear at Hamilton in May.
