The residents of Reach Township will have the oppor- tunity to vote for or against the sale of liquor within the township this week. Questions being asked on the ballots are: Are you in favour of the establishment of government stores for the sale of liquor? Exhibitors came as far as from Troy Michigan and Carp, Ontario and the Judges were Jack Pugh, Ellicott City, Mary- land; Frank Cutter, Succasunna, New Jersey and Bram Van Velden, Stoney Creek, Ontario. Winners on Saturday in the various categories were: Youth Show: Best in Show won by Kendal Hills Rabbitry receiving the Emmerson Insurance Brokers Trophy. Runner up was Jerry VanVelden of Stoney Creek winning the Jelmbea Trophy. In the Dewlapless Show Best in Show was won by Murray Scott with runner up going to Redwood Minatures of Troy Michigan. The All-Rex show Best in Show was won by Mark Stewa n of London with Runner-up going to Maureen here proudly displaying his champion "Californian" rabbit. All-Giant Show winners wei'e Jelmbea Rabbitry who received the Best Giant award followed by Robert and Nancy Webster of Cayuga. In the All-Californian Show held by the Ontario Cal- ifornian' Rabbit Specialty Club winners were the Kipfer Chambers Rabbitry of Brunner who took Best in Show, Best Opposite Sex, Best Senior and Best Junior withJohn Selfe of Bradford taking Best 6-8 Class. The awards were present- ed at the clubs Annual Banquet and Dance held in the Recreation Centre where 105 sat down to the delicious meal. On Sunday it was back to the show-room for the C.O.R.B.C. annual Spring Show and by about 5 p.m. the Best in Show was declared to be a 2 pound Ruby-Eyed White Netherland Dwarf owned by Murray Scott of Wingham, Ontario. Runner - up was the large French Lop owned by Ray Ravazzola of Fenwick. This ended the largest and perhaps most successful show ever held by the club. On Saturday, May 22, 1982, the Central Ontario Rabbit Breeders Club held their first youth show at Black- stock Arena. There was a turn out of fity rabbits and out of these we had eleven breeds: Nether- land Dwarfs, Dutch, Palish, Mini Lops, New Zealand Whites, American Chin- chilla, Californians, French Lops, Checkard Giants, Silver Martens and Tans. Trophies were given for: Best in Youth Show won by Kendal Hills Rabbitry. Runner-up won by Jenny Van Valden of Stoney Creek. Medalions were given for Best of Breed and Best Opposite Sex by these were won by: Nether- land Dwarfs: Best of Breed - Michael Colbourne, Bow- " manville; Best_Opp. Sex - There is no mistaking that these two young ladies Michael Colbourne, Bow- manville. Dutch: Best of Breed - Reni Pleasance, Bowmanville; Best Opp. Breed - Renee Pleasance, Bowmanville. Mini Lop: _ Best of Bred - Sandy Brewer, "Cayuga; Best Opp. Sex Susan Baptie - Kendal. Silver Martins: Best Senior - Ron Wormald, Beamsville; Best Junior - Ron Wormald, Beamsville. Tans: Best Senior - Chris Bignell. All in all the youth show had a terrific turn out. Our Judge was Jack Pugh from Ellicott City, Maryland, U.S.A. he helped us greatly by telling the youth what to look for in a good show rabbit. All the youth were pleased with the show because they were com- peting against young people between 9-19 years of age instead of being in the adult competition. are proud of the pet rabbits.
