Thursday evening June 3 saw 16 tables of euchure set up at Prince Albert Hall. Ladies high was Gertie Dennie, second Pat Norton and low Nora Walker, on the mens side high was Alvin Spencer and second - Lloyd Fawns and low Harold Cornish. A June bride-to-be was honoured by her Prince' Albert friends and neighbours on Wednesday, June 2 at the Prince Albert Hall, Donna Jean Brain was in the seat of honour. Marg Sweetman, Audry Jeffrey and Marilyn Luke hosted this shower for Donna. Congrat- ulations Donna and happiness to you always. On Wednesday, June 2 Pearl Gostick was born 80 years ago, on Saturday, June 5 a large turn out of friends and relatives gathered at Prince Albert Hall to wish Pearl 'Happy Birthday'. All her family-minus one grand- daughter - were present. After the open house, the whole clan 22 of them gather- ed at Emiels Place to dine with Mrs. Gostick. '"Happy Birthday" Pearl from all Prince Albert. Hope to do another write up on you in 5 years. Mr. and Mrs. Joe LaPorte from Havelock, Ontario were Sunday visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Bill Armstrong on Quacker Road. Also visit- ing the Armstrongs on Sun- day were Mr. and Mrs. P. Clarke from Oshawa, Ont- ario. Please remember the U.C.W. yard sale on June 25 and 26th at Helen Wozneys over on the Oshawa road. If you have any clothing, books, toys, dishes and wish to donate them just call 985-8146 or 985-7873 they will gladly pick them up. Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Sandy Moore on Hurd Street, they celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary on Albert Sunday, June 6th at their home with an 'Open House', 1942 sure was a busy year with weddings. Despite wet' weather on Saturday, I am told the canoe races came off very good, the paddlers had the wind in their back helping them along and the rain on top didn't seem to bother them at all. Rose Spina from Oshawa won the draw on the canoe. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Gibson of Coboconck were Tuesday visitors with Les and Grace Beacock. Congratulations to. the newly weds Mr. and Mrs. Brazier (nee April Bent) who were married recently in Prince Albert church. A splendid-size con- gregation turned out last Sunday for worship at Prince Albert church. Rev. Don Tansly presided over the Communion Service assisted by elders of the church, Pat Love, Grace Beacock, Jim Martin and Grant Hunter. Four youths from the Sunday School, Colleen Andrews, Charlene Daigle, Paul Brough and Mark McMullan gathered the offering. Eva Hunter done her usual good job accompaning the choir and hymns.
