Miss Alison Scott of Janetville won the Year 2 General Proficiency Award. Jennifer Kennington was not only an Ontario Scholar (85.5) but also won several other awards including mathematics and the Class of '73 Cap. Miss Kristina Craig won the Human Yelverton and area news Special Award. Miss Lynn Pickering jointly won the Robert Watson Memorial Award. Miss Shelley Sisson won two awards in Modern Language. Miss Mona Malcolm as Head Girl for the past school year was a plat- form guest and also pre- sented one of ILE. Weldon Students Council Awards in the field of Science. She also received a Secondary School Honour Graduation Diploma and an Honours Certificate having attained one or more subjects with an average of over 85 per cent. Congratulations to all those students who not only passed with distinction in one or more subjects, but to all those who actually passed - no mere feat in itself. Our apologies to any who we inadvertently missed in special categories. This year's top student at LE. Weldon without question was Joe Chiolly who picked up numerous awards as well as being an honour student with a 93.7 average -- which ain't half bad. Cedar Creek News A former Cedar Creek resident, Lorne Martyn passed away recently. The Martyn family lived at Cedar Creek for a number of years on the second con- cession where the Gary Whalen family resides. Lorne was a good friend and a good neighbour and will be missed.
