Mosquito Boys Watermill - 5 Lions - 2 There was excellent positional soccer on this field. Coach for Lions never stopped talking and encouraged his boys to two goals by no.12, no.16 with assists from no.5. Good effort was shown by no.15. Great goalkeeping by Water- & mill's Hercules Papa- dogianis kept the Lions at bay. Watermills goals were scored with efforts from the whole team but were tipped in Rob Jamieson (3), Chris Watson (1), and no.5 (1) Assists for all goals was done by no.3. Great playing Team! Lake Scugog Lumber - 2 Kinsmen -0 This was a good soccer game and very exciting. Kinsmen Sorely and Brock had good control of the ball and their goalie foiled numerous shots on goal by Scugog Lumber. Scugog's team played well as a team with good position play and lots of passing. Goals were scored by David Irvine and Terry Bache. Pee Wee Girls Barry's Variety Port Perry - 1 Subway Mane Homes Monday, July 12 - This was a really good game played throughout by both teams. They are closely matched. Port was losing 1-0 at end of half and tied the game with only five minutes left on the clock. There was much cheering and honking from parents and friends on the side lines. Bantam Boys Flamingo Vachon - 2 Whitby Iroquois - 5 July 5 - This game was played at Iroquois Park in Whitby under lights. At half time the score was 4-2 for Whitby. A penalty kick by Flamingo Vachon in the second half went over the cross bar. Goals for Flamingo Vachon were by no.9, Kikba no.2 A Zollier. An exhibition game was planned this week but had to be cancelled. The Bantam standings will be posted as soon as possible. Our Bantam team next plays on July 19 at Oshawa. They will host at Scugog Fields on July 26 to Pickering Village. The Bantam finals will beat the Scugog Fields on September 18. Seven teams will be in this Cup Day Tournament. Scugog Soccer Assoc. -3 Cadbury -3 This team is made up of coaches, referees and affiliates of the Scugog Youth Soccer Association. They meet every Sunday and Wednesday for lots of exciting "friendly" play. At the end of the first half Cadbury was ahead 1-0 and letting Port know. With house league soccer over at 8 p.m. the reserves arrived and much friendly jeering occured to see the score soar. These guys play against Newmarket, Stouff- ville, Uxbridge and Whitby. A minis tournament is play- ed against Uxbridge for a trophy that the loser wins.
