Cawker Re-union Attended Last week, Don and Norma Frew, Virginia, Alan and Judy Frew and family, Paul and Valerie Mappin and family, David and Leah Frew's family - Dwayne and Andrew - attended a re-union of Norma's family - the Burrage connection - held at Oakland, in the Brantford- Simcoe area. Some fifty relatives were on hand to enjoy the once a year get-to- gether, an interesting day for all concerned, catching up on news of families and so forth, Family Visitations On Tuesday, this past week, Bob and Marg. France, Scugég Point, accompanied by Gord and Betty Keast of Scugog Island visited Moe -and Dot Scragg of Bracebridge. Wedding of Interest Norm and Bernice Mairs and Robbie and Carol Mairs, Nestleton, and John and Diane Slute of R.R.1, Oshawa, attended the wedd- ing of Bernice's niece, Helen Kent to Ron Schellenerg both of Sundridge. The ceremony was held in Sundridge Christ Church on Saturday after- noon, July 17. The reception later at Pinewood Motor Inn at North Bay. "Best Wishes" to Helen and Ron from this area. Caesarea Euchre Party The Wednesday evening Euchre with a good attend- ance held at the community centre was sponsored by the ladies' auxiliary "and the winners were: first prize was a tie with Sandy Day and Helen Fletcher having a score of 86. Second prize - Marie Hammett with 81. The low prize went to Patty -Jo Shaw with 48. Next week (Wednesday) for a_ good time. Try to attend! Fred Swann read Matthew 22, and referred to a portion of Romans 1, using as his theme, "Love in three dimensions." A quartet composed of Misses Peggy and Alison Scott, Rev. Fred Swann and Mr. Stan. McNeely sang - "Tell me the old, old story" with organist Mrs. Shirley Scott accompanying. Service next Sunday, July 25, at 10 a.m. The joint services - Anglican and United will continue next Sunday at the St. John's Anglican Church, Blackstock, at 9:30 a.m. Rev. R.C.Rose will deliver his final sermon at this service, Nestleton United Church will hold services during the month of August at the regular hour of 11:15 a.m. The congregation of St. John's Anglican church is cordially invited to attend either the Blackstock or Nestleton services during August. Sympathy Our sincere sympathy goes out to the family and friends of the late Mrs. Catharine Lee who passed away during the week in Port Perry. A delightful person in her 92nd year who will be greatly missed by many folks. Your correspon- dent has many beautiful memories of her immaculate little home and her warm hospitality when she was a resident of Brooklin, and a fine member of the Women's Institute there. Mrs. Wilbur Toms and Mrs. Harold McLaughlin attended the 50th Wedding Anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Carscadden in Kendal United Church on Sunday. The annual Soil and Crop Improvement Assoc. Tour was held for three days this week. The tour visited Grape Farms in the Vineland area and other farms in the Guelph area. Those from here going were Lloyd and Thelma Wright; Walter and Audrey Wright; Richard and Ruby Van Camp; Ivan and Margaret Mountjoy; John and Marion Carnaghan; Harold and Eileen Mc- Laughlin; Roy and Edith McLaughlin; Jim and Bar- bara Byers; Ralph and Peggy Larmer and Harvey and Joan Graham. In the Friday night game against Jolly Rogers, the score was 18-2. On Sat- urday, in a very tight game against the Manilla Stealers, the score was 13-12. Thanks to Shirley and Pete DeHaas for opening their home for the celebration party. Mr. and Mrs. Ken Rodd of Port Perry will be holding a 90th birthday party for Mrs. Myrtie Stone of Seagrave on Wednesday, August 4 from 1 until 4, Friends and relatives are welcome to share this happy occasion. Executive. Nancy and Bob Bryans were weekend guests of Scott and Karen Essery, Lee An the Cawker farm, Scugog Point Road, were Sylia Cawker, son Jason and a friend Wayne Gordon of Scarborough.
