There were semi-finals in all three ages with five teams moving on to the final round this week. In the Junior division, David's Hairstyling tangled with Caesarea Fish and Chips. David's managed to come out on top 17 to 11 in this good match-up. For the. winners, Glenn White hit a homer, triple and double, Derrick Rowntree added a homer and a double, with ShawnMcEnagey adding a home run. Mike Staniland did his part hitting two doubles and Julie Cordon singled. Jan Heyes and Stephen Staniland pitched a very good game and Danielle Lomax crossed home plate three times. For the Blues, Stuart Dyer smashed a grand slam and a triple and David Weir added a triple. On Tuesday evening, four 852-3223 intermediate teams took to the fields with H. W. Mason Haulage taking on Marj Tripp Real Estate Limited. These two teams have play- ed close games against each other all season and this one was no exception. Mason came out on top of this final meeting 10 to 6. Greg Staple- ton homered and Michael Stanley made a single hand- * ed double play and Joy Lane Vogel did her share by catch- ing two flies. Also for Mason, Scott White was very good at the catcher position. For Marj Tripp, Karen Otto hit a home run. In the other game, Turner's Green Giants were coming out on top 18 to 14 over Don Frew and Sons. Gari Oke and Chris Pollock each had homers for Turners aided by a strong game from everyone especially Joey Muzik and a great catch by Trevor Oke to end the game. So the stage is set for the finals this week as Lishmans and David's Hairstyling tangle for the Junior Championship this Monday. In the Intermediate H.W. Mason Haulage, the first place team all year will be Young gymnast wins 2 events Mark Brown placed first in two categories in gymnastic competitions held August 14 and 15 at the Peace Games in Indianapolis, Indiana. The 14-year old Scugog Township youngster placed ~ first in his age group in the floor and the vault, and also competed in the high bar and parallel bars. The two days of compe- tition was excellent exper- ience for this talented gymnast, and while in the American city, Mark was billeted with a 14 year old boy who is a U.S. champion gymnast.
