In the top of the fifth with the score 10-2 John Butler hit a home run to score himself and Karl Durward for the ten run lead. In the bottom of the inning the Krazies defence allowed one base hit to shut down Sherway for the win. Krazies saved their best for the last game of the day as they engaged Sault Ste. Marie's Daylight Demons in a real barn burner. Stingy defence on both sides kept it close through 10 innings as the Krazies came out on top 4-3. Blackstock left 13 men on base, twice with men on third only to be thwarted by the Demon's defence. The Krazies gave up all three runs 'in the third inning on three hits and an error before buckling down and never allowed a runner past second base over the next 7 innings. Ron Short went 3 for 4 with 2 runs batted in, including the crucial game winner as he pushed Keith Dalton across the plate. Sunday morning brought disaster to the team as they lost a heart breaker in the bottom of the seventh by a 10-9 score to the 7-ups of Toronto. Blackstock drew blood as Eldon Wagg led off with a home run to deep left centre. Before they were finished, the Krazies went on the defence in the first inning up by a 3-0 score as Ron Short hit a triple to score Grant Curnow and Ron Wagg. The 7-ups plugged away and by the end of the fifth the score was 5-3 in favour of Blackstock. In the top half of the seventh Jude Cassidy walked and then scored when Eldon Wagg hit his second home run of the game. Grant Curnow follow- ed with a single before Ron Wagg flied out and Dave Dalton hit a home run to make the score 9-3 Krazies. A let down on defence ended the game as Toronto scored 7 runs to end the game as Blackstock needed one more out to finish the game. As the saying goes "theres always next year.' Hair Removing ...
