After the fair, Ronald Deeth auctioned off this first prize cake and it went to George Stone and Stewart Diceman, raising $300.00 toward buy- ing something special for Central Seven. Rose is enter- ing in Markham Fair, so look out ladies! Just one question, Rose, a cake worth $300.00 was it made out of "Gold Medal" Flour? Keep up the good work, Rose, Prince Albert is proud of you. And congratulations also to Chuck Willes he finally got the highest points in the vegetable class after ten years of hard work. Thursday, September 9 was euchure night at Prince Albert Hall, 12 tables were filled, ladies high was Margaret Watson, second- Bessie McCullough and low Elsie Taylor. On the long weekend, Roy and Dorothy Hope along with Terry and [Eileen Hodgins . took a cruise on the St. Lawrence River on "The Canadian Empress". They travelled from Quebec City to Montreal. Also their daughter Marion Jermey and family visited them. Brian Till and Randy Fraser took part in the Demolition Derby at the Uxbridge Fair. Both made it to the finals. Sorry to hear of the recent passing of Mrs. Ronald Lee of Toronto. Visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Howard McMillan was her granddaughter Susan. Last weekend Brian Gib- son's Blazers edged out Angus Meisner's team 7-6 to win the annual Greenbank mixed 3 pitch tournament. Our U.C.W. meets on the first Thursday of each month excepting September. That meeting was held on the second week this year, because of our interest in the fair. Laurie Steven spent a few days last week with her grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Paul Diamond. Darlene and Dale Ridge of Baltimore spent Sunday with her mother. Mr. and Mrs. George McGregor visited with their Phoenix cousins a few days last week. Mr. and Mrs. Wally Parr of Toronto, visited with Mrs. Veran Baird recently. The W.I. meeting will be on Tues. Happy to report Dave Thompson is able to be home from hospital. Susan and Thomas Ver- hoog entertained their Sunday School group on Sat. night to a corn roast and social time. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Bright, Sr., of Raglan, dinner guests with Mr. and Mrs. Mel McGee on Sunday. Anyone missing a deer lawn ornament? Prince Albert sends out sympathy to Fred and Hazel Brooks, they lost their dear sister-in-law, Mrs. Tom Brooks, from Sunderland, the funeral was on Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. Ross Alsop along with their daughter Valery Coates attended a funeral for Mr. Maxwell from Marmora, Ontario, Mr. Maxwell was an uncle to Mrs. Alsop. The funeral was held at Gooderham, Ontario. Mr. Jim Mitchell put on his wings on Saturday and travelled down to Trenton, Ontario to view the popular Air show put on by the Air Force base at Trenton. He no more than got home, when company came to call in the form of Kenny Sanderson and his friend from Guelph, Ontario. Mr. and Mrs. Jim McGregor' of Braeside are beaming with joy these days, its a boy- Cameron James Allan and he arrived on Monday, September 6, 1982. Saturday evening, Sept- ember 11 saw 150 people turn out to the Feasby Farm on the 4th, as Stan and Cheryl swung wide the barn yard gate for their annual, pork and corn roast. The weather was perfect and a good time was had by all. Les and Grace Beacock accompanied by Ken and Mildred Rodd were off to Toronto Saturday night to the Town and Country Res- turant.
