All too often when police arrive at a store or business that has just been robbed, they find that employees out of fear and confusion are unable to give accurate descriptions and other infor- mation that could lead to the arrest of the robbers. To help merchants and store employees overcome this problem, Durham Region Police has compiled a "Robbery Procedure" booklet which has recently been distributed to all business and stores through- out the Region. It offers many tips on general protective measures merchants can follow to help discourage robberies. And if a store is victimized by robbery, the booklet out- lines what employees should look for in the way of de- scription and information that will be useful to the police in their work.
