December 21, 1982 -- 19 Prince Albert by Earline Armstrong On Wednesday, Dec. 15th, 39 members of the Friendly Visitors Club of Prince Albert sat down to a hot turkey din- ner, catered by the U.C.W. of Prince Albert. After filling up on turkey, cranberries and plum pudding, the group gathered at Prince Albert Community Centre to hear a concert. Taking part were- Emma Cox, Jean Martyn and Laura Hansen. Merry Christmas to this group and keep up the good work. I see Jeff Robinson is home after a ten week stay in Florida. Jeff looked hand- some as always, but I couldn't see much of a tan. Jim Mitchell up on Simcoe I said, Hi when he arrived. I looked at the clock. It was 10:00 at night. I said "Where are your reindeer?" He replied "you better go back to bed. Business was short, a com- mittee was set up to get the Mystery Sister supper under way. Rev. Glenn Jackson was on hand for the installation of officers for 1983. Norma Robinson will be our new president and Lorraine An- drews vice president. Lunch was superb, done by Aileen Olsen and Myrtle Snelgrove. Next meeting will be January 19th at 8 o'clock in Prince Albert United Church basement. The doors of Prince Albert Community Centre were open again on Thursday evening, _ Dec. 16th for the euchre fans. 17 tables were filled, ladies high was Dorothy McDiar- mid, second was Gertie Den- nie and low Carolyn Hicks. Over on the men's side, high was Norman Birkett, second was Wilbert Stone and low was-Mary Williamson. A number of extra prizes were donated, but a special thank you to the local 1.G.A. store for fruit baskets. No card par- ty next week (probably San- ta Claus has the hall rented) but please come and join in on the fun on Thursday, Dec. 30th at 8 oc'clock.
