Four outstanding members of 4H clubs in the Durham region were entertained at the House of Commons by their Member of Parliament for Durham Northumberland, Hon. Alan Lawrence, when they visited Ottawa December 3rd and 4th. The Ottawa trip is an annual event sponsored by the Durham Milk Committee, and the four ,young participants are selected on the basis of their leadership potential, their involvement in community affairs, and their GREETINGS ATL o He. December 21, 1982 -- 25 Hospital Auxiliary December meeting by Luella Graham The Port Perry Com- munity Hospital Auxiliary held their meeting in the , hospital on Dec. 13th with 16 "ladies present. Ann Currie, Vice president conducted the meeting in the absence of Joyce Taylor. She opened the meeting with a very appropriate reading. Reports were given by the officers. Some lovely knitt- ing turned in along with the parcels brought in by the members to be sold in the tuck shop. Barb Boagey and Ann Currie gave most interesting reports from the convention which was held in Toronto. The physiotherapist Sharron Phillips and floor volunteers gave a little Christmas party to the patients in hospital receiving therapy, which they thor- oughly enjoyed, being served sherry and other goodies. The Bake sale which was held Dec. 10th was a good success, and the auxiliary thank each and all who in anyway had made donations. We are pleased to announce that the I1.G.A. store has joined with the Red and White Store and Zehrs in saving cash register tapes for proceeds to go to the Hospital Auxiliary fund. There will be a box to put them in at the Tuck Shop. So folks please save your tapes. Plans are bing made for another Euchre early in the new year. After the meeting closed, Marg. McConnell, teen vol- unteer presented awards to four teen volunteers being Darlene Adams, Cathy Sut- cliffe each receiving their caps, Ann Hoogeven stripe and pin, Heather Boyd first bar. Thanks to Marg and her volunteers for a job well done. We will not be having another meeting until Jan. 17, 1983. See you all then and a most Happy Christmas and busy New Year to all.
