Juniors lose to Whitby 13-1 On January 2, 1983 the Sportsland Juniors travelled to Brooklin for a game with Whitby. Unfortunately the Sportsland girls seemed to have celebrated too much and too long over the holiday season - they went down to a 13-1 defeat. Some of our team members were still away tor the holidays and we had Coleen Scala and Heidi Meisner from the tween team to help us out - both girls played well. Lori Ann Newell scored the Sportsland lone goal assisted by Heather Muir. Petites win 5-0 On Sunday, January 2, the Bruton's I.D.A. Petites play- ed against Beaverton and won by a score of 5-0. This is a first year club and they have improved since we last played them. Jen played goal and although she didn't have much work she did get involved in the play!! The defence of Kelly, Kim, Jenny and Nicole played well and made the goalie's job much easier. These girls usually play forward and are to be commended for their good effort. Michelle Beare open- ed our scoring assisted by Kerri Allen. Jacki Durham finally scored the second goal after some nice passes from Kelly. Melissa Moehring scored the third goal unassisted. Misty Andrews scored the fourth goal assisted by Melissa. Michelle scored the last goal assisted by Kerri and Heather Lawrence. Denise Wilson played white stick for the first time and did a super job. Nicky Beare and Denna Lovering did their usual good job of checking and passing the ring.
