J&D Carpentry is now tied for first in the league standings. J&D started things off in the first at the 12:20 mark when Bryan Horton scored from Dennis Sims and Jim Duncan. Three minutes later Randy Prosser gave J&D a 2-0 lead from Reid Stainton. With five minutes left in the first Wayne Fox scored an unassisted goal to give J&D a 3-0 lead. - In the second the Kingfishers came back with two but it wasn't enough to overcome J&D's 3-0 lead. Rod Jones scored from Dave Mills and Carl Fitz- gerald and Dave Mills getting his 2nd point as he scored from Richie Lefort and Glen How- sam. Goalies for this game were Doug McSween for J&D Carpentry and Barry Johnston for the Galley. Sportsland came up with another team effort to defeat B.J. Donuts 2-0. This was Sports- land's 3rd win in a row and are moving up in standings rapidly. This game also had the save of the year by goalie Pete Namienko who stunned everybody on the Orioles team with his one leg-save-early in the second. Sportsland started things off in the first when Bernie McCaneny scored an unassisted goal. With 4:25 into the second, Ken Smart broke away giving Sportsland their 2nd and final goal. Bernie MaCaneny got his second point of the day as he assisted on Ken Smart's goal. Goalies for this game were Pete Namienko for Sports- land with his third shut- out in three weeks and Bob Strickert who made some great saves for B.J. Crandells Riverboat defeated Compton Cable T.V. 5-3. Crandells started things in the 1st when Grant Menzies scored | from Bruce Cracie and Alf Vanbeek. Compton came back a minute later when Terry Lavereau scored an un- assisted goal that tied the game. With 58 seconds to play in the 1st, Floyd Asselstine put Crandells ahead, assist going to Brian Cullery. The score after the 1st was 2-1 Crandells. Compton started things off in the second when Ron Compton tied things up from Pete Van Weston and Arnold Risebrough. Crandells then scored three quick goals to break the tie. Bruce Smith, Bill Hurst and Brian Callery were the three scorers and Floyd Asselstine, Alf Vanbeek and Brian Callery assisted in the goals. This gave Crandells a 5-2 lead. Compton scored one more by John Robertson and John Kotarba and Brian Curtis assisted. Final score was Cran- dells 5, Compton 3.
