Mr. George Harper visited his uncle, Mr. Harry Harper in hospital and was a supper guest with daughter, Sherry Scho- field and family. Mrs. Mildred Thomp- son attended a bridal shower on Saturday night at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Murray Kirton in Mount Albert which was held in honour of the forthcoming marriage of Miss Hilda McKinnley and Mr. Steven Hill. Sunday dinner guests with Mr. and Mrs. John Croxall and girls were John's parents Mr. and Mrs. O.E. Croxall who have just returned after spending the winter months-in Florida. The Eric Carre family have just returned from an exciting two weeks in California. Some of the things they enjoyed were the Knott's Berry Farm and a visit to Dis- neyland where they en- countered .a tornado which was quite frightening. They tour- ed the Universal Studios, visited Sea World and the Anza- Borrego Desert when the desert flowers were still in bloom and they also visited Tijuanna, Mexico plus a number of other places. (Not in this order as my geography isn't too good). Anyway it sounds like a wonder- ful trip and they sure had a good time. Our sympathy to Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Lang- maid who had the un- fortunate fire on Tues- day evening and lost most of their belong- ings. The UCW had a very successful beef supper on Wednesday evening and all those who attended seemed to enjoy the food (some more than others). They sure made things dis- appear in good fashion anyway.
