Caesarea Youth Club The last dance April 22, held by the young- sters 11-15 years, at the Caesarea Community Centre was a success with Disc Jockey John Priebe supplying the music. Spot dances were won by 1st - Jenn- ifer Day and Shawn Hoskin, 2nd Patti Thistel and Kevin Hicks. The draw for the record - the lucky winner was Tammy Mc- Millen. An enjoyable evening for the young fry. Dances are held the second and fourth Fri- days of the month. Caesarea Euchre The card party held last Wednesday evening in the Caesarea Centre was well attended with winners as follows: First prize went to Betty Ringham with a 94. Sec- ond prize winner - Ross Wingroye with 90. Low - Marlene Skinner - 49. Al Cormack had 11 lone hands for the month of April. Congratulations to all - and glad to see Al Cormack able to partic- ipate in the Euchres once again. Next week as usual. Birthday Celebration On Saturday evening, April 29, a birthday party was hosted by Mrs. Charles Cawker, son Ken and wife, Ivana in honour of Charles's 80th birthday (the important date being April 28) and held at their lovely Scarbor- ough home. After a sumptuous meal at 6 p.m. served to 19 relatives and friends - complete with birthday cake and all the trim- mings - an amusing period followed while Charles opened a great - assortment of interest- ing gifts - and read the witty comments found inside the birthday cards. Lastly - a neighbour - Dave Fernie - reminisced in' poetic style - bringing to mind "long-forgotten humor- ous experiences re - Charles's past life. Those present for this enjoyable event were the recipient and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Cawker, son Dr. and Mrs. Kenneth Cawker, Mr. and Mrs. Les Mead- well, Mrs. Win Walters, and Mr. and Mrs. Dave Fernie of Scarborough, Mr. Gordon Cawker, Lindsay, Mr. John Cawker, Fenelon Falls, Mr. and Mrs, J.B. Cawker, Manchester, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Hastings, Port Perry, Mr. and Mrs. Robt.- Cawker, Scugog Island and Mr. and Mrs. Sam Cawker, Nestleton. Family News Sunday dinner guests with Mr. and Mrs. Grahame Fish, Nestle- ton, were: Mr. and Mrs. Jim Leishman, Michael, Jamie and William of Reaboro and Mr. and Mrs, Calvin Holland and Chad of Bowmanville. A birthday celebration for Jim. Our warmest wishes! Sympathy Our condolences to the Malcolm family in the loss of a beloved Mother - Mrs. Emma Malcolm who passed away during the week. Left to mourn are sons Victor, Nestleton, Har- vey of Yelverton and Ralph of Don Mills, as well as many grand- children and great grandchildren. Emma - in her prime - community minded person - loved by all who knew her - she will be missed by a host of relatives and friends. Our sympathy also to Mr. Marwood McKee of Blackstock in the loss of a loving wife Olive Thompson McKee - and- Mrs. Fern Lawson of Nestleton - + her sister. Olive was well known throughout the area and will be greatly missed. Birthday Party Many from this area including the Sam Cawkers, Nestleton, attended the lovely birthday tea and open house held for Mrs. May Allen in the Anglican Parish Hall, Port Perry on Saturday afternoon - her 80th birthday. A fine attendance was on hand for the occasion showing the esteem in which she is held by all. Our very best to friend May. It was good to have a visit with Rev. and Mrs. Reg. Rose once again. Reminder The Nestleton U.C.W. meeting will be held in the ehurch, Tuesday, May 10th -at-2 p.m. A white elephant sale promises to be of interest. All ladies welcome. Leonard of Port Perry was recently purchased by Marie Wilson at the Lorne Thompson Auction sale on Carnegie Street. The 11 inch x 16 inch photo was purchased for $2.00 and shows a women's group from the Manchester area. Happy Birthday to a nonoginarian Yelverton and Area News by Harvey Malcolm Congratulations are extended to Mr. Stanley Malcolm who will be entering that exclusive Club - the Nonoginarian Club on May 9, 1983. Few succeed in reach- ing 90 years of age and fewer still in a healthy state - physical and mentally. Best wishes are extended on this a sssaiogiogririii et A lifelong resident of the Yelverton-Janetville area passed away peacefully on Monday, April 25th at the Daheim Nursing Home in her - 90th year. Our mother, Emma Malcolm, wife of the late Rae Malcolm lived in the Yelverton community on the farm home (now occupied by Harvey, Corrie and Mona Malcolm) from 1920 to 1952. She was active in the Ladies United Church organ- ization (the Ladies Aid, later the W.A. and more recently the U.C.W.) as well she was in her earlier years active in ~the local Church Choir. - A devoted mother to her three sons, Victor of Nestleton, Harvey of Yelverton, Ralph of Don 'Mills, a loving grand- mother of 11 grand- children and 15 great grandchildren. - - Mr. Howard Malcolm is currently in the sunny south - deep south that is.
