Sn Sn RA NE, a Loran ~~ Eo, i SRNR Rian ARS 34 -- PORT PERRY STAR -- Tuesday, May 3, 1983 Island orchestra and choir entertain Scugog Island News by Mrs. Earl Reader Last Monday evening, the long planned Official Board meeting became a reality for the Scugog Pastoral Charge. Rev. Don Tansley was in charge and welcomed the visiting team, Mrs Sue Genge and Miss Margaret Pellow from Presbytery. They ex- plained the purpose of the visitation and glean- ed information about the work. This was followed by consider- able business. In correspondence we received an appreci- ation letter from Rev. Linstead, a resignation from Maurice Fralick who has been central treasurer for 27 years and a resignation from Miss Beatrice McLean, effective June 30,1983. - There were letters from the Bible Society, cons- umer energy of Hydro Electric and a remit from the Office of Gen. Council re Christian Initiation (Baptism) to be signed and returned by Nov. 15. Mrs. Bonnie Gerrow has consented to take on the responsibility of Central Treasurer. There was considera- able discussion re the procedure for obtaining future Ministry accord- ing to finances and needs. We'll hear more about this as investi- gation and study develops. Although, there was a very good attendance, perhaps other committee or board members could have been present. Rev. Tansley who is director of V.I.M. in our area requested attend- ance at a meeting in Port Perry, Thursday evening when reps. from 6 churches in the area will get more information for this pro- ject to raise $40 million- dollars across. The concert was climaxed by sacred music. Aside from the hours of practice, we just had to appreciate the detail- ed planning in selections arranging, collection or making of costumes and stage arrangements. Of course, we know these people do have a good time in the preparations and enjoy working with others in the knowledge that they are giving pleasure to others.
